A beautiful big square even though works were being done. Square surrounded by amazing architectural buildings and beautiful at nights with the lights of all the eating and drinking places around the square.

We took the red train from Piazza Maggiore (13 euros per person). We enjoyed the journey up the hill top. We saw many people walk up the many steep steps. the church is beautiful. The garden outside is large and cute too.

Part of a complex of seven religious buildings, the Basilica (one of several basilicas in Padua) dates to the eight century. Wonderfully serene, the church is of Lombard origin, with a single nave and a trussed vault.

Highlights in the art program include the beautiful main altar Crucifix by Simone dei Crosifissi. There is a rare 12th century fresco in Romanesque style attributed to Berlinghiero, joined by fifteenth century frescoes by Michel de Matteo. In the Chapel of the Trinity, there is an equally rare, quite beautiful wooden group of the Adoration of the Magi, sculpted in the 14th century, the oldest Nativity scene known in the world.

Quite simply, a staggering sight. Don't miss these towers, even though they are currently undergoing work, with hoardings around the bases. Really spectacular.

This was one of the most enjoyable small museums I've been to. It is steeped in history and it was very easy to imagine professors dissecting bodies with students crowded round and blood seeping into the wood and along the floor and the smell of flesh. The wood carvings are absolutely wonderful. All in all, a very evocative experience.

The Basilica is a huge building; the main portal by Della Quercia is a sculptural masterpiece decorated with both panels and standing sculptures depicting prophets, saints, and scenes from the Old and New Testaments. The interior, with three aisles, is wonderfully decorated with a variety of different media: altarpieces by Lorenzo Costa, frescoes by Giovanni da Modena (including the large Last Judgement) and Michele de Matteo, stained glass window designs also be de Matteo, wooden intarsia panels by Agostino di Marchi, a tempera and gold polyptych by Garelli, and a collection of panel paintings.

OMG my husband was in motorbike heaven. Really enjoyed this experience which was museum and factory. We booked via their website and husband got a discount as he is a Ducati owner. Got a good look at the factory floor and its workings and a good explanation by guide on the processes. Museum had a great range of motorcycles especially the collection of championship motorcycles.

We caught a taxi there and back with ease. Cost less than 20€ each way and saved mucking around with public transport.

If a bike enthusiast highly recommend.
