This was a great way to get to know more about the food production in Bologna. Mattia was so knowledgable, & obviously passionate about sharing this with others. It was never obvious that he does this tour every day, twice a day.
We ate some of the delicious traditional bolognese foods and sampled some local wines. The tour also includes a visit to watch pasta being made, which was mesmerising, along with some balsamic vinegar tasting.
This tour is very good value for the money & I would recommend it to anyone that wants to learn more about the amazing food this city can offer, other than the taste. The tour does involve quite a lot of walking so be aware of that, and don’t eat before you join!!

5 years late but better than never.

I'm not usually one to do group tours but this was recommended by my boss at the time and seriously -- 5 years later, I'm still talking about it!

We detoured 2 nights to Bologna to make this tour happen and I was sceptical but it was one of the most fun travel days I've had. We were picked up early in the morning and taken in a really nice van to a Parmesan cheese factory, followed by a Balsamic vineyard and factory and finally a prosciutto factory. What followed was one of the most fun lunches I've ever had (I even learned how to sabre a bottle of lambrusco).

Our guide was so passionate and knowledgeable about the region and its history, not to mention the production methods for all the foods we tasted. I came away with a deep appreciation for *real* parmesan cheese, balsamic vinegar, prosciutto di parma and the various government designations for each product, plus how to tell that I was getting the real deal when I purchased these items back home in the US.

I did this tour with friends while in Italy but hope to come back and take my husband & kids next time!

Our cooking class with Alessia was the highlight of our trip to Italy 🇮🇹 She explained every step thoroughly, made us do everything from scratch. We made excellent Tiramisu, Tortellone filled w ricotta and tagliatelle. She’s a very generous host and an excellent chef and teacher. Highly recommend her cooking class if you really want to dig deeper into the authentic italian cuisine! We were 2 couple from Canada who had an amazing time cooking, trying wine and enjoying every moment of the experience! Thank u Alessia💖

Wonderful evening food tour with our guide Federica. She was engaging and knowledgeable about Bologna history and was kind and inclusive to everyone in our group. We got to try all of the traditional foods of Bologna along with the history of them - and made new friends along the way. Highly recommend this tour!

Anyone wanting to learn all about the foods of Bologna should just take a tour with Marco! My family and I really enjoyed our tour with him. All the food we had was delicious— we can’t get over the onions and balsamic vinegar dish. Amazing taste :). It was fun to see how everyone we saw welcomed him with such enthusiasm. Marco himself was so much fun to be around!!

We really enjoyed our tour with Marta. She was very personable and provided us with many interesting facts about Bologna. I would recommend that you start your tour with an empty stomach! We started with amazing pasta, then mortadella, and then a veal chop. Ended with gelato. It was all delicious!

The trip itself is fantastic! The only reason they got four stars is because the original driver never showed up and the company never contacted us to let us know, I had to call them numerous times to see what’s going on, they finally sent us a new driver. The cheese tour was the best part! It was so interesting. The vinegar tour was good, the lunch was good. The vinegar tour is more of someone telling you how the process is done and then just going upstairs in the attic, and looking at the barrels. The Lamborghini museum does not have many cars, you can be done with that in 30 minutes or less. The Ferrari museum is much better!!

Federica was a wonderful guide and gave us good tips for the rest of our trip. The tour was a great introduction to all of the food from the region, including a huge spread of meats and cheeses with wine for lunch. Definitely worth booking!

A full day that was very informative and fun. The private tour was pricey but well worth it! Our guide was informative, patient and pleasant and our driver was great as well. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for something a little different and informative, especially if you love Italian cuisine!

    What an incredible tour!

Every stop was outstanding especially the host for the Moderna balsamic vinegar at his estate. The lunch served here was over the top FANTASTIC! The risotto with a drop of 25 year old balsamic vinegar left us speechless. Homemade lemoncello and walnut liqueur to wrap up the visit. WOW is all we could say on the drive back to Bologna.

The process for making the parmesan reggiano was amazing and so informative too. Our host knew the business very well and explained it so easy to follow and understand. All in all a great excursion. Just wish we could've had more time to order something.

The reason for the 4 stars was that our driver was overly pushy at the farm where the cheese is made and rushed us to wrap it up so could go to the next stop. Very rude while we were in the middle of the cheese tasting. We didn't feel that we had any time to shop in the store or order any of the cheeses since he pulled the van around and did everything just short of honking the horn. Then in the van he was constantly on his phone and using the radio speaker since it was hands free so very loud.

If possible, I'd like to find the contact information for the farm making the cheese so we could order some.
