I was first in the queue at opening time and got in very quickly and bought a ticket. This place is great. Gorgeous inside and very interesting. Being able to walk through the bridge of sighs and see the prisons was fantastic.

Beautiful building and artwork. The only problem is that they are really stringent about not letting you take photographs! and that your bag must be stored somewhere else (but it's free!). Although there was a fairly lengthy queue, it moved really swiftly, even on a chilly, rainy December day.

We went early in the morning and missed he larger queues you see later in the day. We didn't book as we were told there might be little point if the lifts were out of operation. The tower is only accessed by lifts up and down and cost 10 euros each. There was a little queue which quickly moved and we nipped up in the lift to see over Venice.

In the tower top itself it is pretty busy and the security mesh seemed quite tight and not the easiest to take good photos out off, but it can be done with a little care and patience. The views are quite good and it is a pretty clear morning so the islands view was good as well. We thought it was worth doing for the 10 euros as with the lift there is little effort required so you can walk longer along the canal streets and Campos.

A must see if you are visiting Venice but be prepared for the crowds on the bridge and surrounding area. keep your belongs close to you as pick pockets target the busy area. The bridge is packed with tourists, in the six days we were in Venice and stayed close to the bridge we never saw it quiet.

We’re lucky enough to be staying in the heart of the Cannaregio district, and we couldn’t be happier to be in such a calm and beautiful area just a 2-kilometer walk from St. Mark’s Square.

The restaurants and bars are cozier and more affordable—we imagine this must be what experiencing Venice in the old days would have felt like.

Both day and night, the neighborhood is a great place to stay and an excellent photo spot.

After viewing the large Il Paradiso canvas, I decided to visit the Scoula Grande di San Rocco. There are two floors of Tintoretto's works, ceiling and walls, with room maps for identifying the paintings. For knowledgeable or novice, the scoula offers a fantastic encounter with a Venetian master.

Immediately after we entered this church and paid our admission, there was a stand containing brochures in multiple languages that highlighted the the top 20+ things to see within the church. It was helpful to have it along as we walked around to make sure that we didn’t miss anything. It also gave us the name or artist of each artwork. Several pieces also had signs in both Italian and English with additional information.
