Venice Shopping
For centuries, Venice was the epicenter of a mighty trading empire specializing in cultivating the world’s finest goods. It’s no surprise that the legacy lives on and flourishes today in a contemporary shopping culture obsessed with craftsmanship and detail. From boutiques presenting Italy’s most luxurious brands to family-owned shops passing artistry through generations, Venice offers one of the world’s most rewarding shopping experiences. Whether seeking contemporary fashions, original works of art, or unique trip mementos, treasure awaits in every neighborhood (sestiere).

Although there are countless glass shops in Venice, Mauro's pieces are, in my opinion the finest and his sea creatures are unique, luminescent and life-like.
However, for an even more intimate look at Venetian creations being created, find Vianello Mauro at his shop in mid- Venice !

Located in a quaint and quieter side of Venice with plenty of restaurants and shops around.

I was in Venice last month and I visited the Fondego... great renovations, nice place for shopping but the best is the terrazza .... amazing views of Venice!! Must see
High end shopping, displays stunning, though I think most visitors -like us- head straight for the roof terrace for its amazing view over the Grand Canal and 360 views over Venice.

In particular we really enjoyed the free demonstration and additional information provided by the staff in the gift shop to help us select the perfect gift to take home.
Stefano was very gracious during the glassblowing demonstrations & afterward as we shopped in the gallery.

The shopping afterwards was low pressure and we found a beautiful case and candle holders - they are the perfect centerpiece in the dining room.
Although it was peak season, there were only two other people on our tour of the factory and shop, a welcome relief from the typical crowds.

I would recommend shopping here for anyone that is looking for an authentic and genuine glass piece that is different from anything you could find in a shop off the main street.
It's tucked behind the front row of shops, down the first alley, over the bridge from where the vaporetto Colonna stop is located.
