What travellers are saying
- petrovslava21 contributionsThe church is unique because it has the tomb of St Nicholas. We saw many pilgrims from different countries. It is worth a visit if you are in Bari.Written March 23, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- laczkozsuDebrecen, Hungary2,536 contributionsI loved wandering around the narrow alleys of the old town and the spacious squares where you can find ice cream parlours, cafés and restaurants. I particularly liked the terraces of the restaurants, where even in January there were still a lot of people. We enjoyed walking through the labyrinthine, branching streets, between the patinated old houses and decorative palaces. It was also interesting to see the women making traditional homemade pasta.Written January 18, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The old houses, palaces, the many churches (San Nicola, San Sabino etc.) and the large squares are very interesting. Sitting on the seafront or wandering aimlessly around the narrow cobbled streets is a great experience. It has a special vibe.Written January 19, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ellamaria00Oxfordshire, UK72 contributionsI enjoyed my visit to this imposing fortress. It has a long and complicated history. The multi media displays projected onto the castle walls inside explain the history well and make the castle come alive. This along with the archaeological remains and artifacts made it well worth the €10 entrance fee.Written November 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - The MADjar’sStockholm, Sweden14 contributionsA little tricky to find the street. Everything is over priced when it’s tourist season but worth the experience and buying the handmade pasta and other goodies from these locals is a good way to give back to their community. - Frankie CLondon, UK692 contributionsExcellently laid out and explained. Older information boards in Italian but the newer audio-visual explanations in Italian and English. A fascinating exposition of the sacred sites and burial grounds built one on top of the other over many centuries.

But you have to bring your picnic blanket and an umbrella (there are people standing on the beach selling umbrellas). A large umbrella costs 20 euros.
