Quite a hike from Florence centre but there's regular public transport. The cemetery itself is interesting but the views from around it and below are stunning and well worth the effort of getting here.

The English Cemetery in Florence is truly an oasis of peace.
With its abundance of flowers and serene atmosphere, it provides a tranquil sanctuary amidst the bustling city.
Walking through its pathways feels like stepping into a magical realm, where history and nature intertwine to create a profoundly moving experience.

Went to the cemetery specifically to visit the grave of Oriana Fallaci: the cemetery is located in a very beautiful area of Florence and it is decently maintained.
I had to seek help to locate the grave and the florist was very nice and helpful.
It was overall a very positive experience.

If you’re family are buried here, search for Florence War Cemetery on Facebook so you can meet others with family.

Today I visited and couldn’t thank the staff enough for what they did for me. My Grandfather lost his dad at the age of 2. 10 years ago my Grandfather was killed without ever getting the chance to visit. Today the staff dig a little hole in top of his fathers grave so I could lay some of his ashes. As doing so, they said a little prayer. They will forever have my respect. This meant so much to the family and especially to me as I was the 4th generation and first to ever visit. Please go there and enjoy the peace and quiet. The reason that today we live in peace and can share life with those that once were possibly enemies.
