It is a good place to spend half an afternoon and learn in a hands on way about Leonardo‘s inventions. The museum has two rooms full of his machines and they can all be touched to understand the system behind which is kinda cool! Only problem is that it gets full, loud and crowded with kids fairly fast

I stumbled upon this museum by accident, and it ended up being one of the highlights of my trip to Florence! It is absolutely packed with all types of toys from across the decades, and has an extensive collection of Pinocchio memorabilia. You can even watch an Italian-language cartoon version of the film. (If you're familiar with the story you'll be able to follow it even if you don't speak Italian). My brother and I (both in our 30's) thoroughly enjoyed the scavenger hunt, which really challenged us! If you have about an hour to spare while in Florence, this is one of the best places to spend it!

Do you know that soccer was born in Florence? Nowadays you can see the soccer origins (dating from the Renaissance) during games of "Calcio storico fiorentino" (a game which is nearer to rugby) between may and june in Piazza Santa Croce...but our Temple of Italian Soccer, the modern game I mean, is here, in Florence, because in the Coverciano section the Italian national soccer team do their soccer camps. In the FGCI seat there is this small jewels, with a lot of things to see and to know if you're interested about soccer.

Ticket costs 14 euro for adults, open everyday from 10 am to 7 pm. Located between Duomo and Accademia Gallery. There are two exhibitions: The Pinocchio exhibition and the Dante exhibition. The Pinocchio exhibition is very suitable for kids as the kids get full immersion into the fairytale. The Dante exhibition brings visitors through a journey that begins with the screams of the damned and the fires of hell, ends with the peaceful celestial atmosphere of Paradise. There is a large bookstore, a Pinocchio official store and a restaurant bar with free wifi.
