It was a nice experience to taste different flavors while the guide explained the history and cultural connections behind these products. You visit 4 places to enjoy food and drink. The food court was the best where we could choose 3 tapas dishes from a choice of outlets. He made it so easy to get to each of the Christmas markets. - MARY FAY PIndian Wells, CA23 contributionsJohan was very nice and most knowledgeable about the history of Basel. He was also helpful in how to take the tram. The pastry shop we went to was amazing - I just wish I could have had a small slice of a couple of things instead of so much of one. Johan was also very well versed in the different cheeses and chocolates. I would recommend this tour.
What I didn’t like was not being able to go at the time I originally booked - 12pm. I was given one option (9:30 am)the day before , which I took but wasn’t an ideal time to do this. I was given an option of a later time that same day, but I had already made other plans. He was a wonderful tour guide who was attentive and customized the trip to our needs from our requests for just the right amount of activity, finding just the right coffee shops, and the best picturesque locales. We enjoyed how he shared personal stories of life in Switzerland and his travel experiences and charmed us by sharing his favorite local chocolates. - Jens H2 contributionsI was disappointed to see many very poor reviews from the Glacier Express Panoramic Train Round Trip in one Day Private Tour from Basel. My wife and I have been very interested in the tour for several years but if the experiences related by several travelers in the past year are anywhere near accurate, we will re-think our desire to ride the Glacier Express.
