One during the day with cheese tasting and the other in the evening for the Light Festival.
These were certainly the two highlights of our visit to Amsterdam.
The boats were very comfortable and the English-speaking guides were excellent, explaining the city in detail with lots of interesting and funny anecdotes.
The night cruise for the Light Festival was SUPERB and unforgettable!!!
The big positive point is that this company is the only one that accepts small dogs on the lap. Once we arrived we made a booking and were very impressed with their customer service and boats. We chose an evening cruise with open bar and charcuterie platters. The boat was beautiful and was actually the boat Freddy Heineken used. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The boat had multiple booths and allowed couples their own space. Having a nut allergy was not a problem and they created a platter separate from the others for safety. - Chris_W_NOVAWashington DC, DC112 contributionsWe booked Amsterdam Boat Trips from Central Station to view the Amsterdam Light Festival. Our hosts onboard were Lavinia and Karianna were awesome! They were great hosts who had a ton of information about Amsterdam, the pieces of art being displayed, and put everyone at ease on our over one hour trip along the canals. When the canal had a “traffic” jam they kept the mood light, and made sure we were all enjoying ourselves. Tommy and michel made our trip the best one we have asked for .. the local knowledge was amazing and the tour it’s self was beautiful .. - Chris W2 contributionsWe booked a 10 AM tour on a chilly morning and we were so glad that we did. Tony was our captain and he was fun and engaging and really knowledgeable about Amsterdam and its history. The boat was warm and comfortable and we enjoyed coffee and delicious sweet bread throughout the cruise. There were only six other passengers and it was interesting to meet them. The boat itself is beautiful and the route that we took provided us with lots of interesting stories and information. We would highly recommend this cruise company. We used the "East" dock - don't be put off by it seeming to be quite far from the centre of Amsterdam. It is less than 10 minutes from central Amsterdam on the metro which runs frequently. Very little administration involved - great map for routes - boat very simple to operate. Most canals are available to be used. This was one of our most enjoyable, relaxing experiences of our whole trip. A bit pricey …roughly £100 for 3 hours but is worth it.
