We spent a wonderful 2 hours at Trebah Garden with our little mini dachshund, Walter, on a gloriously sunny October day.

I can really see why people say this garden has interest all year round, and my wife and I will definitely return to see it in full flower during other seasons. Everything is so well maintained, clean and easy to get around. There are wheelchair accessible routes and still plenty to see if you can't take the steps.

The views are incredible and the gunnera are really something else, even after succumbing to autumn storms!

The biggest deal for us, I have to say, was how dog-friendly but also safe it is. Our pup is a nervous boy and quite reactive, so this was a big deal and a gamble bringing him. He is quite calm when other dogs are leaded but that's rare in most places. Here, the policy is that your dog is on a short lead and under control. Granted, you will always get the odd person who decides the rules don't apply to them, but we didn't have this trouble for the first time ever. It is a large enough space with enough paths for us to nip out the way of an oncoming dog, but was also quiet so we didn't pass many people at all. We were able to enjoy taking him to a paid-for public location without being as anxious as him. I also would have felt more confident there asking someone to lead their dog thanks to the rules which are very politely signposted at the entrance. We were even able to do the beach with him which felt like we'd stumbled upon some little cove on New England.

Another bonus for us was the vegan ice cream range available at the beach! There were 4 different flavors and it was so nice not to just be presented with a mango sorbet! Mint chocolate chip was a great addition to the sunny stop!

Super friendly staff who were great about our little dog too, lovely gift shop and an all round fab trip means we can't wait to visit again when we are next holidaying this way. Thanks for making our trip a pleasure and letting our little boy relax.

Sitting quietly down a country lane stands this beautiful little church. The plot has as I understand it been a special site for 100's of years and it shows in the architecture and weather worn ruggedness.

The grounds are awash with colour at the moment and the views across the sea are expansive

Myself and a friend were very much looking forward to playing at Budock Vean. I’m a beginner and my friend is a more established player, the course met both are needs and was both challenging but fun. The team were friendly and welcoming and gave a great introduction to the course. We chose to play the nine and it didn’t disappoint, finished sat on the terrace in beautiful surroundings, having a great local ale from the club house. We will certainly be returning to this hidden gem.

Just at the back of Durgan Beach in the pretty, unspoilt coastal village of Durgan is the National Trust's Durgan Fish Cellar. Open (as long as there are enough volunteers) whenever the NT's Glendurgan Garden is open, the Durgan Fish Cellar is worth popping into as it is full of information about the village and its former occupants. You don't have to be a member of the NT to go in as it is also open to walkers on the coastal path. You are also able to get ice creams and hot drinks.

Myself and my friend purchased a spa day to celebrate my birthday. First the good points - lunch was nice and service good and prompt. The spa receptionist was very welcoming and gave us all the information we needed. A special shout out to Lucy who gave me the most wonderful BNS massage - I’ve had many of them across the world and this was one of the best I’ve ever had!
The not so good points - the actual spa/pool area is truly awful. We literally could not believe our eyes with what we were presented with. The changing room was no bigger than a standard family bathroom with one toilet and can only fit around three people at a time and that’s being generous. The lockers are outside the changing room, in the pool area itself. We couldn’t see any showers so asked a member of staff and was shown what I can only describe as those god awful communal shower you used to get a school swimming baths or PE school showers. These are also in the pool area and frankly there is no way on this earth we would use them. There

But the reveals didn’t stop there - I have never ever in my life been to a swimming pool with carpet around it and an open fire - the whole thing is just bizarre. The carpet unsurprisingly is filthy and soaking wet, the building itself is in need of maintenance and has mould everywhere. The loungers had no cushions and several people were unable to get a lounger so left. Towels provided were tiny and old - many bleached from countless washes. The whole place was like a 70s public swimming pool. I was actually embarrassed in front of my friend as I had been the one to book it. I may return for a treatment but the “spa” is just a waste of time and money.

This trip was the highlight of our week. We went out at 5 p.m. so were coming back at sunset and the whole experience was amazing. Tom was very entertaining and knowledgeable. The scenery was beautiful. I can't recommend this trip highly enough! Will definitely go again
