What travellers are saying
- Rose TeaNorth Carolina1,557 contributionsPonta da Piedade is truly one of the most breathtakingly beautiful places I’ve ever experienced in all my years of travel. It was the highlight of my trip to Lagos, and it did not disappoint! Seeing it by tuk-tuk was an added bonus—we were able to go much farther than cars could from the parking lot, saving a lot of walking while still taking in the stunning views. An absolutely incredible destination that I hope to revisit someday!Written February 3, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rochelle FRandolph, NJ1,240 contributionsBeautiful beach along the coastal walk. We wandered down the steps and walked around, admiring the huge rock formationsWritten February 3, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rochelle FRandolph, NJ1,240 contributionsWonderful to see the beach from the boardwalk. It is really lovely. There is the Restaurant right there too which has fresh fish. And a beach restroom by the boardwalk.Written February 3, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Beach CoupleTruro, UK65 contributionsEasy access from the free station car park. 2 bars here which sit on the back of the beach. (Set satnav for Bar Quim - means Who in Catalan apparently).
In front of bars & to the right towards Lagos is more crowded, sunbeds & umbrellas to hire plus a life guarded section.
Take the well made board walk to the left of the bars for 5 mins until it ends. The beach then stretches out in front of you until the Alvor river. Allow 2 hours to walk to the end & back. The sand is soft & clean.
The naturist section begins with a minute or two of leaving the end of the boardwalk & continues to the end of the beach. It’s not an officially recognised naturist beach but is clearly very well recognised & established.
No facilities here but lots of space to find a tranquil spot. A few people wandering on the shore line (naked & clothed) but not many.
All in all we think one of the best naturist beaches on the Algarve. Would definitely recommend & return.Written September 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Nice restaurants and snack stands up top from the beach. Looks like you can rent beach lounges, paddle boards and more. Surfing lessons too!Written August 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Hein SDeurne, Belgium57 contributionsJust amazing views. Theres wooden walkways so that everyone can visit and see the cliffs. Stairs going up and down from the water might be a challenge for older ppl, but worth it if you can make it. if you can t make it you can still enjoy the scenery in a lot of different waysWritten September 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rose TeaNorth Carolina1,557 contributionsWalking around the small city center of Lagos was a lovely experience. In just a short time, you can take in the marina, enjoy a meal downtown, browse souvenir shops, and still have time to relax by your hotel pool in the afternoon. There’s plenty of history to explore for those interested, along with a great variety of restaurants to choose from. While some streets can be a bit slippery and there are a few rundown buildings with graffiti, overall, Lagos feels like a peaceful escape—especially compared to Lisbon.Written February 3, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Katie CDublin, Ireland21 contributionsGood for smaller children as it is small and easy to get around. My kids loved seeing the monkeys and although there isn’t a huge amount of larger animals they enjoyed all the birds and seeing the reptiles also.Written July 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - historyfanatic99New York City, NY230 contributionsThis is a very nice beach - clam water and beautiful sand.
Gets crowed in the summer but really nice to go later in the day and tak a walk along the sea.Written July 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Steps are crumbling and there is a very narrow part that you have to hold on to wooden sticks. If you can go pass that, the beach is beautiful, very secluded, clean and beautiful water.Written July 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
