#1 of 6 Nature & Parks in Aveiro
We visited on a lovely October day but I can imagine this park is a real oasis of calm in the hot summer, when the town is invaded by tourists (such as ourselves).
me and my husband sometimes do picnics there which is a great idea - there are stone tables and benches where you can do it.

The river, the lake or the sea is a great advantage for a city that attracts tourists, especially when they can enjoy some additional events, such as the festival in Aveiro.
We first drove into Aveiro and ended up near the salt pans; from there we headed into town and the delightful sight of gondola type boats on the river taking people on cruises.

On the lagoon side, you can also go out on a boat, sailing, windsurfing, etc. Very quaint with the old spruced up fishermen houses, with bright stripes, turned into vacation homes, or lived in year round.
Beautiful dunes, boardwalk running alongside the ocean and promenade along bay side with colorful, striped houses and a few restaurants open.
