What travellers are saying
- Svetlana Balashova10 contributionsBreathtaking view. Worth the effort. The road back down will allow you to explore the old town. Can get there by a taxi. One of the best panoramas of the city.Written December 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Thomas VOakland, CA19,494 contributionsThis is a great lookout spot with views of the old city below, plus the castle. This is also a lovely park with places to sit when you are tired of climbing hills and walking around. A combination of a view point with a park.Written December 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Herbert C1,950 contributionsUnlike the more exquisite Miradouro de Santa Luzia which is just a few steps away, the more subdued Miradouro das Portas do Sol is basically a huge balcony above the Alfama neighbourhood, guarded by the statue of St Vincent (Lisbon's patron saint) holding a boat with 2 ravens. Nevertheless, you essentially get the same sweeping views of Alfama and River Tagus. Its name is literally translated as "Gate of the Sun", reminding visitors that this is one of the best spots in the city to watch a sunrise. So naturally, the best time to visit is during the early morning which is also the less crowded time of the day.Written March 5, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dalessiopietroMurray, UT633 contributionsBeautiful view of the Tagus (Tejo) River, the 25th de Abril Bridge and the sunset from a beautiful historice viewpoint above Lisbon.Written February 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Expl0rer1234Bristol, UK151 contributionsA nice bar and a great view over Lisbon. The drinks were good. Note there is a minimum spend. Recommended for a visit if in the area.Written November 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- simpsonite64Northampton, UK702 contributionsWe were lucky enough to go up here for free due to a special event that was running, but wed have happily paid the 5 euro ticket fee given how spectacular the view is.
The only reason it's not 5/5 is that there is no shade at all, which makes it unbearable at certain times.Written October 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It wasn't very busy when I went, and provides a great view of the city and some interesting graffiti. Be mindful it is an empty old tower a good distance from any amenities by foot or cycle so water and snacks are a good idea for anyone not driving.Written October 7, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JackOld Bethpage, NY3,409 contributionsThe Miraduoro Terracos Do Carmo are a series of terraces including the one at the top of the Santa Justa lift that overlook Lisbon from the Plaza do Carmo. The view from the top is amazing and I highly recommend.Written July 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - trooper92St. Gallen528 contributionsThis viewpoint is better - and much less crowded - than Santa Lucia. Somewhat hidden in a children’s play zone (you have to go around the building) and therefore only accessible during daytime. They even have some tables and benches in the shade. Look for Miradouro do Recolhimento in Google maps - it will lead you to the entrance.Written May 26, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - IAN DWigan, UK26,799 contributionsThis must be the best view point to take pictures of the bridge. I reached by climbing streets with large inclines. Worth it at the top.Written July 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- GausiTriesen, Liechtenstein175 contributionsA viewpoint far from the centre and all the tourists. Small café for snacks and drinks on site. The view and the atmosphere are unbeatable. Without a doubt worth a visit.Written May 2, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- belgianguy1Bruges, Belgium13,374 contributionsOne of the lesser visited viewpoints in Lisbon (there are just too many I guess) but nevertheless worth the hike up, good views over the rooftops, especially on a sunny day, with a couple of benches to relaxWritten February 26, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - belgianguy1Bruges, Belgium13,374 contributionsThis place is easy to reach as it's connected with the street below with some stairs, it's a nice viewpoint, overlooking the harbour and the river... there's also a cute little park here, with lots of shadow and benches, perfect place for a little picnic while enjoying the view!Written March 30, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
