- 2Dogs2Girls2DadsPorto, Portugal39 contributionsIt’s the endless market! Amazing produce, fresh fish, live poultry and rabbits , and shoes and clothing for blocks, plus so much more!
This market is well organized with clusters of goods. All of the bakeries are in the same location, as are the fruit and produce, pottery and kitchen goods, plants, and so on.
Need a guinea pig? They’ve got you covered. Need a rotisserie chicken, got that too. LOL!
This market is much larger than the market in Matosinhos and worth a train trip from Porto.
We visited July 1, 2023. Shopped, had a glass of wine, and did some great people watching! It really was a great market experience!Written July 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The water was also colder than the Gulf beaches.Written June 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- stevo96United Kingdom157 contributionsTook a cheap 30 min train from Porto for a day on the beach as the weather touching 30c. Really enjoyed the beach and cooling off in the sea including messing about in the breakers which was exhilarating. The water did become calmer later ...its more suitable for youngsters when sea calms. The arrangements 're umbrellas and loungers is a bit scratchy (this is portugal) but I suggest you settle in to any unoccupied loungers near a bar ...they may or may not (as in our case) come along and ask you pay. If you are not on a tight budget eat at the seafront Aquario Marisquiera restaurant...fabulous.Written September 18, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joana R2 contributionsI made a dinner reservation for the "Baccará" restaurant at the casino, and informed in advance that two people were vegan and therefore required a vegan menu. The casino said they would be able to provide an adequate meal, given their dietary restrictions. Upon arrival, the welcoming staff immediately recognized we had two vegans at the table, but when we were ordering, the serving staff seemed surprised with that information. There was no preparation whatsoever to accommodate the dietary restrictions. The chef improvised on the spot, but in our opinion, the meal was not worth the money and was not satisfactory. The staff didn't seem very interested in providing more nutritious meals. It would have been better to just be honest when we booked and tell that it was not in their interest to accommodate all guests equally. Would not recommend the dinner experience at "Baccará" if you have dietary restrictions.Written December 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - south6Lafayette, LA190 contributionsWent to Mass there, and it was gorgeous inside and out. Portuguese churches are beautiful, but tend to all look alike.Written June 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gabriela 🎀United Kingdom159 contributionsThe pool is treated salted water from the sea. The pool itself is massive and there’s a deep end, shallow end and a separate pool for babies/children. The lifeguards are also friendly and you’re allowed to jump in to the pool. You need to pay extra to have sun loungers or a table with chairs but there’s benches placed around one side of the pool that are completely free.
There’s a cafe inside with a great variety of food and drink. Staff are friendly. It’s also great that this place allows you in with your own food and drink.
We visited this place about 4 times within a month, I honestly recommend it to anyone who prefers pool over the beach.
The only downfall about this place is the toilets. They’re completely broken, run-down and there is never any toilet roll. They’re so disgusting.
Recommendations:
- Toilets need a massive upgrade and/or to be well maintained and cleaned.
- Unused/empty area at the top could use with some benches/chairs/sun-loungers.Written September 11, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The pace itself is very beautiful and the ruins very interesting to see. I would like to know more about the archeological findings.Written August 23, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Catarina RBraga, Portugal99 contributionsGood spot to relax and enjoy the beach. I loved their burgers, although they will probably deliver your food a little bit late as it is a very crowded place during summer.Written July 9, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - agylondonLondon8 contributionsEntrance is at the rear by the rail tracks. Building is ancient tin factory. At the front you have a permanent exhibition of the tin trade and fishing trade. They have interactive computer displays in Portuguese that are well made. Then in the new part you have temporary exhibitions. The museum staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Entrance fee is 1.20euro for adults. I learned some interesting facts by going there.Written June 25, 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
