A lovely gorge mainly in the shade and easy. Beautiful scenery throughout. No running water in the gorge. Took a couple of hours. Teamed up with a couple so could easily organise a drop off and pick up. WW2 history of allies evacuating through the gorge really interesting and taken off the beach at Sfakia by the Aussie vessels. Visited the WW2 museum afterwards above Imbros. Fascinating relics from the Nazis, Kiwis, Aussies and Brits. Lots of partisan info too. Well worth it indeed and tied it all up nicely.

If you want to immerge yourself intona journey in the past and understand what the magnificent Cnossos Palace once was, this is a must visit. The museum features amazing pieces of ancient history. If you are into this, don't miss the Museum.

This old town is a must to see with narrow streets and lots of shops and lots of places to eat or get a coffee, everyone polite and they all make you feel welcome.

Jaw dropping! What a beautiful harbour. So nice we visited twice on our week break. Full of lovely bars and restaurants, beautiful streets and a square with children playing into the night

What an amazing aquarium and reptile centre!
€8 each for adults, you can pay online or pay when you arrive.
All staff are SOOO friendly, chatty and lovely!
All animals are super happy, all tanks and enclosures are clean and looked after and the place is just amazing!
Lots of opportunities to hold, stroke and feed animals or watch them be fed.
    Would definitely revisit!!

It is something that everyone should see it. Shallow, turquoise water. You should climb on the mountain to see the lagoon in all its glory

The pink sand isn't as vibrant as it appears on instagram but it's still very beautiful and interesting clear water that washes into pink sand. Even through the beach is packed with crowds, still had an enjoyable time and was able to have space to ourselves.

Get there before 11am to beat the bus crowds and rent a sunbed.

Fantastic scenic drive! And lunch with a View. Wonderful setting and food to match. Fabulous drive up the scenic Theriso Gorge and continuing up the dramatic mountain road passing the stunning flowering trees. We arrived at the top at the village Zouvra..stopped ourside Emilia's Taverna by chance and had the perfect lunch there. The waitress was so attentive and service professional. The home-cooked comfort food was delicious, we enjoyed dakos, cha grilled lamb chops and a courgette, potato dauphinoise, the stand-out dish of the day.

Nice place to visit to understand more of Cretan olive oil production. They have a few stations where they explain more about the steps of olive oil, cheese and wine production via a tablet with video.
Don’t miss the tasting of olive oil and other produce inside. They offer olive oil production experience as well as wine tasting experience.

Fascinating place to visit. Layers of history to discover over the past few hundred years. The boat companies suggest 70 minutes is enough time to explore but definitely needs a few hours to see properly. Worth packing your own drinks as the cafe know they have a captive audience and charge ridiculous prices.

You are currently not allowed on to Chrissi island due to the suspected damage tourism has caused there.
We went on a boat trip with Archagelos cruises for a look at the island anyway and had a good day.
The boat takes 30 minutes to cross to the island and stops in various bays where you can swim in the clear waters and snorkel. The food was excellent as were the staff on board.

There are two, the small Triopetra and the large one which are separated by rocky hill !! Triopetra is given the name because there are 3 (trio) rocks (petra) on the water between the two beaches and you can walk on them....carefully !!

We drove two hours from the Chania area to the secluded beach, on the beach we discovered spectacular views and a beach that can only be seen in the movies. I recommend to anyone who has come to visit Crete to make for themselves and friends a trip to this spectacular beach. In the tourist season the beach is busy but on less touristy dates it is a dizzying experience!

** Extra bonus ** The beach is a nudist beach so if you are into the matter of tanning like on your birthday it is well worth a trip.

Notwithstanding the opinions of many people who told us "don't waste your time there" we decided to visit the Palace anyway. And i am happy we did. Honestly i was impressed. But i believe that one thing made the difference: we first visited the Archeological Museum in Heraklion where you can understand what the Palace really was and admire all the wealth it once had (which was now brought to the museum). So my advice is to visit the ruins after a visit to the museum. And when you are there, please think about this: you are looking at and walking on something that was made 4.000 years ago...

Please note: i come from Roma. And it is not that easy to impress me with old stuff.
