- Ros TDevizes, UK682 contributionsWe visited this monestary on a cruise ship tour so it got crowded with multiple overlapping tours. Definitely worth a visit to see the inside of the monastery and to browse through the historic (old) exhibits and icons of the adjoining museum. Photography is not allowed inside the monastery or museum.Written November 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dean-TravellerMugla, Türkiye1,214 contributionsChora is the ancient hill top village built around the Monastery of St John. Narrow cobbled streets lead between old houses, many now restored holiday homes. Views appear randomly but each is spectacular over the hillside, windmills and sea.
There are cafes and small shops. Parking is just below the village. Taxi from the port at Skala is inexpensive and can take in a stop at the Cave of the Apocalypse.Written December 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is much to see from Christian buildings and artwork, village side streets, shipyards, beaches and natural beauty to clear air and water. It’s a photographer’s dream with lots of material to work with.Written February 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Burak G7 contributionsOne of the best beaches on the island. Family owned and operated tavern. - Martin CPerth, Australia33 contributionsWow, what a slice of heaven in such a chilled place like Patmos! This secluded beach (sun lounges, drinks, food at the nearby restaurant etc) is superbly run by Andreas, with his hospitable nature unsurpassed. The beach is crystal clear, safe, sandy, and above all relaxing. On our day there, there were locals, returning holidayers and the odd groups of visitors discovering or renewing acquaintances with the hidden gem known as Agrio Livadi Beach. Do yourself a favour, get there to escape life’s stresses……..Written September 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TWal1Canberra, Australia2,936 contributionsThese windmills are prominent on Patmos. The architecture is simple and they are solid and well maintained. They are easily accessible and provide a great photo stop. The backdrop is stunning, particularly with clear blue skies.Written March 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nikolas ADelft, The Netherlands58 contributionsNice, cool and cozy. They have a nice terrace on the side with a swing, which is a great idea to enjoy a relaxing cocktail. The cocktails are very nice, always ask the waitress to explain. Maybe they can make a new creation cocktail as you like it. In general the place is not crowded, most people show up after 11:00pm.Written July 25, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - greg924Sunshine Coast, Australia749 contributionsThe setting is gorgeous: quiet, relaxed and few cars. Few cafes were open and lounges at the resort are expensive (€50 a pair) and so were two coffees €13.50). The water was cool, clear and with lots of small fish.
