Spent a sunny Sunday afternoon at this venue. We opted for the Grand tour audio assisted. You cannot go wrong! Such a fabulous place. We headed out into the gardens in the spring sunshine. Truly recommend this as a place to spent a few hours.

Vienna is charming and a bit old-fashioned. Prepare to dive into beautiful architecture, world of art and sacher cakes. Most landmarks are located in the inner city, except for the Schonbrunn palace. People here like to speak German, not English :) All the food is very tasty, both in restaurants and in the streets. Tip: metro works during the night on the weekends.

We went on a Sunday morning on a cold but sunny day. It costs 27€ per person and it’s worth every cent as the variety of the animals is brilliant. What is also brilliant is the condition, size and cleanliness of their respective enclosures. This is an absolutely great way to spend 3-5 hours.

We spent a wonderful couple of hours wondering around the gardens. The gardens are free. We walked from the zoo to the Gloriette which provides a great view of the palace and city beyond. We stopped off at the Gloriette cafe for a coffee, there was a small queue but we got seated quickly. The decor is nice but if you visit the zoo the Emporer’s Pavillion cafe is far more ornate and grand. The schonbrunn gardens are so peaceful and quiet. A really treat was to see the red squirrels running about in the trees near the Gloriette.

We spent there whole day studying stones, bugs, dinosauruses, animals, space and many more. Great place to show your kids all those interesting staff.

The market at City Hall is advertised as the largest in Vienna but I actually found it to be quite small- easily walked at a slow pace in less than an hour. The backdrop is the gorgeous city hall building Rathaus constructed in the mid to late 1800's. The ornate details are incredible and you should walk around the building to take it all in. The market had some beautiful decor, lots of lights that provided a magical glow in the evening and a vintage ferris wheel and merry go round. Some good food and drink options as well.

Ok, so the park is rather dated but I all I wanted to do was go on the Wheel [Riesenrad] for my birthday - and on the wheel I went! We were also allowed to have a car on our own which just so happened to be the same date as my birthday - 14! We then went to Madame Tussauds where one of my friends mentioned it was my birthday, whereupon I was given free entry which was a very nice surprise. The waxworks themselves range from very good to not so good, but it was still fun.

Our hotel was booked at the center of the Stephanplatz where we were amazed by the grandeur of the St. Stephen Cathedral the moment we stepped out from the subway. From the airport, we took the train going to Vienna Central station (Wein HBF) then transfer to U3. It was December, so expect people will crowd the streets, nevertheless the feeling of excitement and Christmas celebration is on the air as the luminous lights shines above us as we stroll around the area during the night. The famous Wein Christmas Market is so close to the center. Above all, there are sausage stands everywhere to feed your hunger.

If you want to experience a magical Christmas while in Vienna, I highly recommend the Rathaus or the City Hall. The lights were amazing during the night. We got to see the mesmerizing architecture of the Rathaus in the morning too. It was packed with people. The place very accessible, buses stop right in front of it. However, walking is the best option when you’re in Vienna, in my opinion.

Ringstrasse encircles Innere Stadt and is lined with beautiful parks, palace buildings, museums, opera and theatre houses and numerous monuments. It is 5.3 kilometres in length and and easy place to enjoy a stroll, sightseeing or casual tram ride during visits to Vienna. There are hotels, quite a few eateries and retail shops as well. Plenty to do, see and taste along Ringstrasse, which is probably one of the most famous and beautiful boulevards in Europe.

My partner and myself went to see a theatre performance in Halle E inside the Museumsquartier of Vienna (June 2023). On the whole, this is a quite amazing place with colourful seats, spread all around, inside, on the square, to sit abd watch the world going by. It is simply amazing as well as heart-warming how LGBTQIA+ friendly Vienna has become nowadays, a great move forward indeed. Go go go to Vienna🌈🌈🌈

Very cool to see, you can get some cool pictures and there is a space where you can learn about the structure and buy some souvenirs

Really good interactive museum. Had so much fun starting with walking up the musical stairs and later virtually conducting the Vienna Philharmonic! For musical history buffs there was a section with a whole room devoted to each composer with a link to Vienna. My non-musical partner enjoyed it as much as I did.

There are several nice city parks around the Ringstrasse, this being the People's Park, one of the oldest in the city having been opened to the public in 1823. Visited this year during the early autumn and found the entire park charming with green shrubs, trees, a vibrant rose garden and monuments surrounded by bright flowerbeds. It made for a nice morning walk prior to setting off on my day of sightseeing around Innere Stradt. Well worth a visit for a morning stroll or afternoon stop to enjoy a rest amongst the Viennese also enjoying the beautiful grounds within Volksgarten.

We went here on a whim - it wasn't originally on the list we had for Vienna, but I'm very glad we went. We expected just an aquarium, but the range of exhibits here is much larger than you might expect. There's a multi-storey open area with monkeys, tortoises and a crocodile, a few open areas with birds, reptiles, snakes & spiders, and the expected large tanks with fish & sharks. Pleasantly surprised with the range of exhibits.

There is also a restaurant / café on the 11th floor, surrounded by a viewing platform for views over the city. The viewing platform is open to access, either as a café visitor or an aquarium guest. Great photo opportunity.

The venue recommends for the aquarium starting at the top floor and working down, though if I were to go again I would start at the bottom and work up. The flow through the aquarium seems to work better that way.
