Really interesting and informative. Enough interactive exhibits aswell. Didn’t know much about Amundsen besides the husky vs dogs so this was great. Went to this as part of the Oslo pass which is highly recommended

A beautiful park and over 200 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland. This park was on the bus tour, so I had guided tour. The Guide certainly helped to explain the meaning & history behind each sculpture. The fountain, bridge and even gates were incredible!
Even in the winter, plan to spend 45mins or more walking.

Original building made from white Italian marble can be seen on the shore of the city fjord from many places. At the top of the roof is organized observation area. You can come directly there from the street.

Great experience with a LOT to see.Reserve a lot of time if you go there, since it will take time to walk through all of the different buildings. Note: worth trying to access buildings that might look like closed, since most of them were anyhow open. One could see old shops etc. worth visiting but maybe nit during winter

Favorite museum in Oslo. Tells the story of Thor Heyerdahl and his journeys on the oceans. Of course, the story has been told in books and on film, but at this museum you can see the actual boats and artifacts up close and in person. The museum takes you through the entire life of Thor and his mates. You'll see the original Kon-Tiki and the Ra; however, the best parts of the museum are the artifacts that were used on the boats as well as those artifacts found while exploring the Polynesian islands. If you are a fan of the Kon-Tiki or Thor Heyerdahl, you won't want to miss this museum when visiting Oslo. It is just a short boat ride across the bay to see the museum, or you can take a bus around the bay to visit. Be sure to have some extra time to really enjoy all of the exhibits and artifacts on display at this great museum.

We took the metro from the City Centre to escape the crowds for a few hours. A short walk uphill from the metro stop brought you to the Ski Tower. Unfortunately for us the museum was not open and the cloud cover was low. Nevertheless we still went to the top of the Ski Jump to experience what it would be like from the top as it was included in the Oslo Pass. I'm sure on a clear day the views are stunning. Despite this we still enjoyed our visit and was great to escape the city for a few hours.

Not the biggest museum, and kind of pricey. It displays a very important part of Norwegian history. Crowded with bus-tourist during the summer months.

Beautiful sea! The sunset here is something else. Many ways to travel these waters by boat, ferry or even a big cruise. Big part of Oslo’s identity
