This is so interesting, many items we could remember from our childhood years or from our grandparents houses.
Easy to find, it's tucked away behind the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in Pickering. Only costs £8 per adult and there is so much to see, we particularly liked the shops scene. There is even exhibits outside showing different trades and occupations that used to be in Pickering and also in towns and villages all over the UK.

The Medieval frescoes are stunning Simple as that. If you are in the area go and have a look as they are superb. You will not be disappointed. The church is set back from the high street and look out for the bat gate!

Treated ourselves to the brewery tour today - and what a treat. Josh was a brilliant tour guide.
We then enjoyed a pint or two in the pub.

A very typical castle, but well worth a visit we were glad that we were Cadw members, so no charge for us
It is well worth paying for annual membership if you’re visiting many of these sites because the day charge is quite expensive

Really helpful staff, interested in what they are doing. And an excellent range of bikes for all capabilities. We rode e MTBs and ICE recumbent trikes. The trikes are fantastic for anyone with balance issues. They are particularly fast downhill on the road.....exhilarating! Hire prices are reasonable.

The visit that most thrilled our daughter and her husband plus both grandchildren (ages 7 and 9). They have since been watching by Blown Away on tv. The village of Rosedale is beautiful, with great public loos and there was space on seats for picnics and the children also enjoyed the great playground.

We have been to Scarborough Spa pantomime, and York Grand Opera. Pantomime.

This show at the Kirk Theatre in Pickering by local amateur societies is by far the best.
A lovely traditional theatre, enthusiastic staff and a wonderful panto!
What can you say. Well done Pickering.

Visited here on a previous trip, and was not disappointed. The history of the place is a legacy to those that worked there. Surrounding views are amazing.

this place gets the sun in the afternoon, several small businesses offering home cooked food, it just a nice spot, there is a little traffic going by but still enjoyable

As title, the building is impressive and when you see the local loss of men recorded, it makes you feel that war is a total waste of life, for no real positive outcome. Corrupting what I believe was a Shakespeare play..Henry the 8th..if you want to stop a war then you first start with shooting all the Politicians and Lawyers..peace in the community returns!

We have to come here every time we visit Dalby as my kids love it. They spend hours at a time on the various tracks and jumps and get more daring every time we come. We always take a picnic and make a day of it. It’s a cheap day out as you only have to pay your entry fee for Dalby forest.

Slightly weird, parked at Levisham station and a steep walk to the elbow of the road. Then a flat walk. So maybe 1.5 miles. Shoes wises, better to wear walking shoes or boots, but manageable in trainers in the dry. So why weird? Well maybe 0.25 mile of climbing and 1.2 miles of flat to see a stunning view!

The views once you get to the tower are stunning and well worth the time you take to walk there.

Honestly, this site is not getting enough love on Tripadvisor.

Get back and have a bit of cake and hot drink at the Train station.

Thank you previous folk on Tripadvisor for writing your reviews.
