This is a unique world heritage site. If you are lucky at the time of your visit character could be added by old sailing ships

Visited today with 2 young children for the “Tunnel of lights” event. We chose today as the “off peak” tariff kicked in and it cost £33.50 rather than closer to £50 at “peak” times.

My honest opinion - it’s a great experience; clever self led story telling and visually effective. However, the price point is too high for what it is. The website advertises the shipwreck museum is included in the price of the entry - yet it was closed with no explanation offered, no discount applicable, and very little interest from the chap on the front counter. We’re locals and would have returned if we were offered a future discount or visit etc; double the sales in the cafe/gift shop… there’s was a little drinks bar towards the later part of the trail, they missed out on £20+ revenue due to the girl being too busy on her phone to serve us or another family.

Would I recommend? Yes but I’d think twice about where I’d like to spend my money in the local area. I’ve been before to the museum itself and worth a look, but not at the expense/service levels.

When you park up you would notice over the wall a small group of local stores.
One of these is the Cscape art gallery, the art is all local as you would expect and to a decent level, there are some very nice pictures. Worth a stroll around

Saw the review below and wasn’t going to chance it so we did the walk to Carlyon Bay which is a fine expanse of sand and returned to Charleston for a late sandwich lunch, and for this I can thoroughly recommend The Galley.
And there is also a fine expanse of sand and dunes at Par if you want to do a longer walk.

Interesting with lots of different crafts, very unusual gifts, glass, pottery etc. Well worth a browse.

Rather than a craft shop, this is more of an antique / second hand shop, but there would probably be items of fascination there, for most people, as such a huge amount.

This is the first chuch I have been in where access to the altar was forbidden, with signs warning about an alarm. The church has many interesting features, but the overall experience was ruined somewhat by the multiple signs saying don't do this, don't do that. I didn't feel that welcome to be honest.

Small plaque embedded into the harbour wall at Charleston, very visable, but lacking in information. I was also unable to find out more about this quite remarkable man who was the mainstay of the harbour and works for 43 years.

A lovely little gallery. Has a great mix of great higher priced art work, prints and more affordable pieces. Bought a range of presents for friends and family. The lady behind the till was really friendly and patient with our children.

Not been here before but gave it an off chance visit.
At first it appeared usual fayre but then saw a menu listed as specials so asked if available and was told yes.
It was a choice of local meats as a roast dinner.
When it came was nicely presented with separate veggies.
Good attempt at Yorkshire puddings but not quite there but no bad for a Southern take.
Meat and veggies were well cooked.
    Good service and good ales.
    Would come again and reccomend.

Absolutely fabulous tour! So many fascinating facts about Charlestown, definitely leaves you wanting to go again as there's so much to know about the place. Highly recommend this - we had it given to us as a gift & what an amazing gift it was. Thank you so much.

Cornwall Discovered looked after a large group of bridge players on holiday in Falmouth, of which I was a member. They had organised collecting us and delivering us back to Truro Station, our hotel accommodation, and 3 excellent tours. My favourite of which was to Trebah Gardens. Our tour guides were very well informed and entertaining and the coach drivers charming too. The Cornwall Discovered staff were enthusiastic and helpful with any special requirements.
