    Pleasant cruise around the Gulf of Morbihan
    We were looking online for a short boat cruise departing from Vannes to get a perspective of the Gulf by boat. Thanks to a review on here, we went ahead. You can book online, but the Vannes Tourism Office helped us.

    There is free parking near the ferry departure. We found the pre-boarding area confusing as this company’s booth was shut and it wasn’t clear which Pontoon to wait at. You will receive a digital ticket when you book online but be sure to collect your paper ticket at one of the ferry company booths. A helpful fellow passenger pointed this out to us.

    The Captain provided a commentary to the cruise in French, which native speakers seemed to thoroughly enjoy. The scenery was most enjoyable. Bring a map along to give you a perspective of where in the Gulf you are passing. The cruise passes Ile D’Arz and Ile aux Moines, and stops at both on the way back to Vannes - it’s essentially a ferry with a commentary.

    There are no refreshments available to buy on the boat so bring something along if you need it. It was approx a 2.5 hour round trip. Toilets are on-board.

    Lovely boat trip, but very busy
    We departed Vannes at the port, where there is plenty of free parking. We had reserved, which was good because the boat was full (please note that even if you book and pay online you still need to queue for a boat ticket in the office - a family who had reserved online reached the front of the boat queue who hadn't done this and had to return to the office).
    Getting onboard there was a very long queue and the top sun deck soon filled up. I guess the boat was full, so there was little choice of where to sit but we managed to get a seat at the lower rear part of the boat.
    The bar was closed throughout the trip??? The audio loudspeaker information was in French, and we were not told that there was an app that you can use on your phone (their wifi) that provides the audio in English, so missed that.
    We stopped off at an island for lunch and returned later.
    A nice day out with beautiful views of the Gulf.

    Very Good Way to see Vannes.
    A gorgeous city. This was a very interesting trip with English audio narration.
    Definitely a good idea to do at the start of your visit and pick out what you would like to discover further.

    Great tour
    Though we had visited Auray before we thought a food tour would be a fun way to see the town again. Alizé guided us through the city introducing us to local specialties. The food was great but it was really nice meeting the owners of the establishments and learning about their products. Our 17-year-old son enjoyed the trip as well!
