- sean emerson2 contributionsA great camping or day trip option. Nice calm bay for swimming. Make sure you check opening times on the website before you leave home.Written November 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mdh969Canberra, Australia1,048 contributionsWe drove up to the Point Perpendicular Lighthouse today.
At first we thought we could not get in because of the boom gates and we could not see anyone. As we drove closer, we could see someone was in a booth at the entry. They took our details and let us through.
The road is predominantly dirt, so expect to get your car dirty.
The views were spectacular. Unfortunately the residences were under repair, so we could not have a look. The lighthouse is also locked, so you cannot go in and have a look.
You could see whales breaching in the ocean from the lookout.
Entry was free.
Well worth a drive to take in the views.Written September 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It’s an easy walk to the entry and then you need to crouch down low to make your way through the tunnel and out the other side. Steel posts have been installed to shore up the entry and exit. The views are amazing. And Mermaid Inlet is awesome too.Written October 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JElliot32New South Wales, Australia4,063 contributionsThis a lovely reserve just out of Currarong that offers good walking, excellent bush and coastal views and a shipwreck ('The Merimbula', 1928) to top things off. And when you return from your bushwalk you can have a dip at Abraham Bosom's Beach, a sheltered and safe swimming spot (not patrolled, though). There had been quite a bit of rain not long before we took our stroll, so track was pretty muddy with big puddles in parts. So, we didn't do the full 6 km circuit, only getting to Lobster Bay. I'd highly recommend having a look: it is an isolated, unspoiled and beautiful spot but I would not recommend for swimming. Same no-swimming tip goes for Wilson's Beach. The highlight of our walk though was the short Wreck track, not so long so enjoyed by the younger members of our group and with many broken up bits and pieces of the Merimbula still wedged between the rocks on the point, nearly 100 years after the ship went down. A real piece of history we could clamber around.Written January 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jemo147Sydney23 contributionsA short drive through Beecroft Penisula and you hit this gorgeous hidden gem. Travel 100m down the board walk tot he sand from the car park and you are in heaven. Not as popular as the other beaches in the area which makes it a winner for us. Perfect for beach picnics with the little ones having small waves and secluded wind breaks.Written June 11, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GriffoenBad Voeslau, Austria97 contributionsDo not miss this place on any account --if you can get hold of its owner Michael, that is. Makes the most spectacular shiraz and (sometimes) cabernet wines in his ...garage! He got scored 92 points by Robert Parker himself, will you believe, on some of his vintages, and one can taste that too. We had the privilege of a full range tasting, some of his world class shiraz 2003 (no longer available on the open market, alas) and went away happily with a case of his other nectarsWritten December 27, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
