Beautiful peaceful place for an autumn walk,lovely autumn colours and lots of information around the place about the mills and water and the main waterfall is quite stunning.
The valley is managed and maintained in a state of "picturesque decay", which means it's a photographer's delight and the remaining ruins of the mill buildings are both beautiful and intriguing.

Well worth a visit & if you can get up the spiral tower the view is to die for I have lived in Chesterfield all my life and when people say that they know of the Crooked Spire it makes me very proud.
