We hiked the trail which was a lot longer than what we anticipated. there's a part were you really need to go down to the beach or you'll have to back track beach because the cliffs are to steep to tackle. It was pouring rain when we were there.

My 4.5 and 2.5 year old thoroughly enjoyed their investigation of the fairy trail and fairy houses with 'Wow' and 'another one here' being said repeatedly. A steep climb but plenty of houses and points of interests to keep them going. About 20 minutes up to 'End of Fairy Forest' allowing for exploring time and a slow leisurely pace. We spent about 45-50 minutes here in total. Mucky in parts after the rain but that was to be expected. My little one slid on way down so hold them tight especially if wet and mucky. Longer walk for those inclined and without little ones in tow. This trail is not wheelchair accessible. Kerry County Council were at something in the car park so a good chunk of the car park is cordoned off leaving about 10 car parking spaces. Recommended if you have little ones: great for capturing their attention and developing their imagination.

Hadn't played Dooks for many years. It was magnificent. A true test of golf. Greens were superb and course management was excellent. Really well run club and can't wait to get back. A treasure

Spent a lovely day exploring around Coomasaharn lake, in the hills behind Glenbeigh strand. We love looking for neolithic rock art and this part of Ireland is full of hidden places to find it. We decided to try and find the tiny dots on our map that indicated rock art in this area.
Some were easy to find and accessible, some we gave up on as set in deep bracken and bog, a couple we thought may have been deliberately covered by piles of smaller stones to prevent people being able to see them.
We were mindful that some were on private land and asked permission where we could. A Landowner was very helpful.
But it didn't really matter what we found or didn't as the landscape of huge valleys and hills was spectacular and beautiful to walk in and we enjoyed the easy walking. We parked in a lay by near the very few houses by the lake, in early July, hardly saw a soul. Its really worth getting off the main Ring of Kerry to the side roads to explore.

A 19th century folly - but still interesting edifice standing high on a hill. It is viewable from the road but otherwise inaccessible. Worth a photo stop.

We had the most amazing time taking in the beautiful views of Rossbeigh Beach all while on horseback! I hadn’t ridden a horse in over 20 years and Ger and his staff made me feel so comfortable on the horse and I am so eager to go back! Ger is an amazing guide and an even better person. By the end of our ride I felt as if I had known him for years. This is a can’t miss activity in the Glenbeigh area. 11/10 stars. Cannot wait to go back and relive the sights!

We popped into this bar on our way to a restaurant. It was really friendly and we quickly got embroiled in a conversation with some of the local residents about a variety of sporty subjects.
The bars have numerous TV screens showing a variety of sports, all with in-house commentaries that made more sense than the TV commentators!
The Guinness is kept well, as is all the beers. It even (regrettably) serves lager!

A fantastic day out on the Ring of Kerry and Wild Atlantic Way Route in Glenbeigh. Rented bikes from Kerry Greenway Bike Rentals - we had everything we needed. Brand new bikes, pannier bags with mobile phone holders plus a family trike. We visited all the local beaches and attractions and Gary & James gave us the best tips and things to see and do on the way! Would definately recommend these guys as a must do visit if you are in the area. We will be back...
