Accompanied by Lester Nanan one of the world's foremost bird experts. We encountered an incredible variety of wildlife, including tree boas, silky anteaters, and an array of birds such as kingfishers, herons, and flamingos. However, all of that paled in comparison to the breathtaking sight of thousands of Scarlet Ibis coming in to roost at dusk. Each bird returns to its designated spot nightly, transforming the hilly island into a stunning display of scarlet dots. With rum punch in hand and a delicious hot meal to savor, this truly was the experience of a lifetime. You need to get a boat that will take you through waterways in the mangroves where you will see a number of birds en route and maybe a few creepy crawlies as well.
