What travellers are saying
- Brayan DStaten Island, NY29 contributionsThe experience was very memorable. I was a solo traveler and our guide Raquel made sure to include me in a lot of conversations so I wouldn’t be lonely. I got to meet new people and we felt like a family the whole time. The lunch was so delicious and the hike had some of the best views on my trip to Porto. Would definitely recommend.Written June 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- John RHockliffe, UK180 contributionsJust one of those places that feels like Heaven on Earth. Praia do Meco faces perfectly West, which means you can sit anywhere on the beach and watch a stunning sunset unfold right before your eyes.
The coastline here has a wilder feel to it - the day we visited there were big rollers on the ocean with all the sound and spray of crashing waves. The beach itself is vast and stretches out in both directions so you can easily find a spot to yourself if you want, or if you prefer some hustle and bustle there are two beach bars right next to each other by the car park (which provides shaded parking and only costs 1 Euro for the whole day!).Written April 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was beautiful even with a dark sky.Written October 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Thomas VOakland, CA19,054 contributionsWe could see this very medieval structure up on the hillside where it guards the harbor and the city below. One can visit it, although it is a long ride up the hill. And there is a chapel included.Written December 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Thomas VOakland, CA19,054 contributionsIt was a cool late fall day, so only one person was in the water and only a few people on this lovely beach that is right in town. We observed it from up above in the city where there are a lot of places to get food. Very convenient in-town location.Written December 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Thomas VOakland, CA19,054 contributionsThe best feature of this little building in the center of town is the plaza that looks out at the beach. The views are great and it feels like a little castle. There is an exhibit here as well.Written December 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Marylene SMaputo, Mozambique601 contributionsIf you want to escape the beaches of Sesimbra, the Lagoa de Albufeira is the right option, even more so if you have kids. The place is secure, the water is calm and the visibility is perfect. If you want to practice some sports, it is also ideal. The environment is attractive. But if you have a choice, try to go in low season as the place tend to be packed with families and parking is a serious problem!Written June 9, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA19,054 contributionsThe location, very close to the center of town, is the best feature. This this big beach is quite accessible to hotels and to the attractions and food in the city. Very few people here on a fall day.Written December 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MJS77yoLondon, UK33 contributionsNice and clean and when we visited, on a Friday, it was near deserted without a handful of other couples dotted widely apart along the beach. The sea was a little too rough to venture in as it was a windy day but the beach was perfect otherwise. We didn't venture far from the steps but we didn't see any shops or vendors on the beach itself. I'd advise you plan ahead and bring snacks and drinks. However there is a nice restaurant at the top of the steps if you need a drink or toilet (takes a while though to use the steps though and I imagine it would be quite a chore if it was busy).Written September 16, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mooma17 contributionsWow what a great find for a picnic spot after visiting Cabo Espichel - lava flow beach with sandy strip for sunbathing - dramatic waves and very strong current don’t recommend going in the sea although a few locals were brave enough to take a quick dip to cool off!! Loadsa rock pools amongst the lava for crab spotting - wear sturdy shoes - easy walk from car park right by beachWritten August 21, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NHjoSaco, ME14,976 contributionsI went to this church a few times because it was right near our villa. Hearing its bells toll was wonderful. It's a simple little church, stark on the outside but the interior walls are covered in blue and white tiles depicting the life of the Virgin Mary.Written December 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RLFSesimbra, Portugal15 contributionsThis is my go to place with my kids. It's perfect for kids of all ages, with plenty different areas to keep them busy and hapily entertained. Very well maintained with lush green grass and plenty of shade, it's the perfect place all year round and an amazing alternative to the beach to spend the day on hot summer days. It's got well maintained bathrooms for small kids and adults, and several water fountains throughout the park. Really really thankful for this amazing investment made by the cityWritten September 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
