It’s a beautiful and scenic place to spend a day.
Gets really crowded on weekends, with students from nearby colleges as well as office employees of banks etc coming in large groups , resulting in long queues for the van which takes people from the entry gate to the actual site.
The toilet facilities are almost nonexistent, which is really inconvenient.
They should have pay and use toilet facilities so that people can get to use clean toilets and it will also help the locals to earn some money.
Do book boating from their website before going so as to avoid long waiting hours. When I visited there was a 2 hrs waiting time as about 200 employees from a bank had booked the slots.

This place has a number of spices all reasonably priced and highly rated. Some items have more than one quality such as cinnamon and black pepper so ask for the best. Most of the items are available in the quantities you want and they seal the packages. We would certainly go there again. Everything is fresh. 5 stars all the way.

Thariode is a pretty little village in rural Wayanad, about 10 kms from Vythiri and Kalpetta, on the route to Banasura Dam. It is surrounded by hills with plenty of greenery and tea gardens. There are many temples, churches and mosques in the town, and all the communities live in perfect harmony.

We passed the impressive looking St. Mary’s Church, and clicked a snap with my cellphone. It is a model rural town of Wayanad, with an idyllic setting surrounded by nature, and there are many resorts and home-stays nearby. Maybe we will stay at one of them on our next visit to Wayanad.

The tree is located, just before reaching Lakkidi on the main road. There is a big chain tied along the tree branch and small temple underneath.

It is in memory of local tribal youth Karinthanandan, who guided a british engineer to reach Wayanad from Adivaram. British engineer killed tribal youth, just to get fame of discovering wayanad. The dead tribal's soul haunting the travellers who passes by the area, so priest chained his soul to the tree.

Don't know the story is true or myth.
