Wow worth the drive up through lush forest and hillsides full of banana plantations reaching skywards. This lookout is just stunning and a real must do here. An engineering wonder stainless steel structure feel like a bird soaring over the surrounding landscape. Our 90 year old dad thought it was just marvellous one of the best sights he’s ever seen! There was a feeling this was a special place to the local indigenous people and their involvement in this lookout area and in maintaining the bush and walks is testament to them and the local authority working together. Do take time to come up here

We loved our visit here. Was not sure how long we’d spend here given size/some of the reviews but our family all loved it (including our 3 and 5 year olds). We arrived at 9.30am and although small they had shows every half hour throughout the day so plenty to see. We stayed for all of them and were blown away by the quality of the shows, care of the keepers and interaction built in which allowed us to touch and play with dolphins within the standard entry price! We stayed til 1.30 including lunch so well worth it for us. Gift shop was also reasonably priced so we were happy to get a souvenir for each of the kids and know the money was going to a good cause

We walked the Island at sunset. We were lucky enough to join NPWS/WIRES on a shearwater release. Great to see the excellent work the conservation crew are doing, and see the working harbour on sunset. A couple of swamp rats were a bonus.

Lovely friendly volunteers a nice walking trail or varied gardens extremely well kept by volunteers. The e buggy tour for $5 is well worth it to see everything before then walking to favoured spots. No cafe which is a shame but nice to spend a hour or two here. But Take mozzie spray they’re everywhere!
The hot house is nice and Japanese garden, roses were past their best unfortunately in early May but still few nice blooms

Too rainy for the beach on our annual holiday so we booked for our family group of 7 to this small, but totally wonderful aquarium. The host/guide was so incredibly knowledgeable and funny, and we learned so much about the local fish life of Coffs. It was also a wonderful reminder about the importance of caring for the sea and its importance in our lives. I would highly recommend this lovely place.

The Clog Barn is a unique experience with its miniature village & Clog making as well as the excellent little cafe that is attached.
We had great coffee and some wonderful pancakes there
A great place for families to visit.
If we had time we would have visited again during our trip

Long drive down bumpy narrow road. The walk is about 1.5m or 1 mile round trip down a road near the tall green steel gates and zip line facility. Requires some elevation gain and loss. There’s a turnout in the road before the actual walkway that offers views just as good without all the physical effort!

It’s quite a long walk at 9km, but we saw a heap of birds and lovely habitat along the creek. Excellent signage informed us of the incredible culture of the Gumbayngyr people of the region and how they used the various plants and animals seasonally.

I went to South Solitsry Island on the day boat trip 22/03/2024. It was a great pleasure to experience such a wildly beautiful place. Lee and her staff worked extremely hard to make the day a great success. Highly recommended!

My husband and myself went to visit the butterfly house today. We were very impressed with the whole experience. There were many types of beautiful butterflies in the very well maintained enclosure. One beautiful blue one was transferred to us to have on our arm ! Many little ornaments and little sayings were scattered throughout the area … making it even more colourful for grownups and fun for kids. We loved that we could go in and out … have a lovely scone with jam and cream … then return for another look at the butterflies. The cafe was beautifully decorated with colourful plants and Alice in Wonderland decor. Even though we didn’t have our grandchildren with us, we thought we’d check out the dinosaur exhibition. Our grandkids would love it … with moving and roaring dinosaurs, a rainforest setting complete with steam and a crashed plane and jeep and a dinosaur show ! Congratulations on a thoroughly entertaining attraction that has something for everyone !
