- RKHughes57Pleasant Hill, CA71 contributionsGreat orientation to the CBD. Helpful in planning how to spend subsequent days.
Note that you can wait for the number 35 tram (old-timey ) OR you can ride any tram for free within the circle route. For newbies, it’s a little confusing to make sure you get off a regular tram while still in the free zone, but if you know where you’re going, it’s nice to be able to grab the first tram that comes by.Written March 2, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Was worried about how much would be there as I heard the markets had been hit hard due to COVID but they have recovered well and there is lots to see.
We grabbed some fruit and bakery items while there too and they were delicious.
Lots of little market stalls, some double ups but still a lot of variety.
Def worth a visit and a great day out.Written February 21, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JoNJohannesburg, South Africa517 contributionsWe loved the Kusama exhibition. We spent just over an hour. It was fabulous to learn about this artist and see her progression over many decades. My 12 year old daughter even loved it. The newer works are very interactive and social media friendly which keeps the youngsters engaged. Controlled number of guests so it is very comfortable. You can book in advance or when you get there. Highly recommended.Written February 28, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The architecture and decor still well appreciated by many and the building is heritage listed. Do look up and down. The mosaic tiles, the glass ceilings, the archways and painting. Stunning.

Not a place to take children or teens with little interest in history and reading a lot. Over 3 floors you literally walk from tiny cell to tiny cell and either see what they were like or have a description on the wall of male, female and child prisoners, their crimes, punishment and life, staff and systems. A lot is devoted to those hanged in the place. Mostly from the 1800s but sections on more recent usage - war years, end of capital punishment etc. Lots to read, cells to view and plenty to set your imagination running.Written March 2, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
