- Jenny MAnnapolis, MD25 contributionsWe had an amazing trip with an extremely knowledgeable crew. We saw a nursery pod of common dolphins and multiple shorebirds doing cooperative feeding. We also saw a brydes whale that was doing bubble net feeling. We were citizen scientists assisting with the boats research and learned so much about Aucklands ecosystem. There was extensive research material on board and a presentation. We whale watch all over the world and this was one of our favorite trips!! Cheekiest Michael, our guide, was incredibly informative and helpful, especially attentive to the couple traveling with children. The entire tour was well-paced, allowing us plenty of time to explore without feeling rushed. It was a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience. The glow worm caves were awesome. Couldn’t take pics in the caves though. That was not great.
Hobbiton was great. The tour and the staff were great. Tons of time for photos and questions. She was very thorough in explaining everything we were seeing and her love of this city makes me want to come back.
She was prompt, thorough, and very kind. It was like touring with a friend. She also accommodated us by dropping us off at our next location rather than back at the hotel. He was knowledgeable of the history of New Zealand, Auckland, the land, agriculture, plant species. Beautiful nature, great beach, amazing scenic views. - Elizabeth G27 contributionsWe chose the Redwood forests tree climb along with the geysers! It was a beautiful walk through the redwoods.
We then had a tour of the Maori Art Institute, saw the Kiwi bird, and enjoyed a spectacular lunch overlooking the geysers. After lunch we toured the bubbling mud and geysers. They are amazing! I didn’t want to leave!
Our tour guide, Daryl, was the most knowledgeable guide! He shared the history of New Zealand with us, showed us the silver ferns, and provides us with the best day we could have ever asked for!!
