This is more than a military museum as it explains much of the political history of Europe by explaining who was fighting whom and why over about 6 centuries. Excellent information in English throughout each room and next the most important exhibits. It is far more extensive and absorbing than I’d expected so you need to allow at least 2 hours. Lots of sounds too, appropriate for each era and room you walk through and videos as well as masses of stuff to see. Then worth walking up to the top of the hill where there’s an enormous tomb to the unknown warrior on what was once a key battle ground in Czech history.

Located at the lower part of Zizkov, Vitkov Hill features the Czech National Monument which features the equestrian sculpture of Jan Zizka (the district bears his name) a national hero and warrior of the proto Protestant Hussite movement who defeated the Papish forces of King Sigismund in 1420 at the Battle of Vitkov Hill.
The building to the rear was formerly a musoleum where the totalitarian communist leaders were interred after death. Their remains have now been removed and the building is now the National Military Museum and a very interesting hour or two can be had there.
If you're staying in Zizkov you can visit the monument by walking up the hill from close to Prokop Square, there are park pathways leading to the top of Vitkov hill or there is a more direct and steeper (not too steep) short-cut.
There are wonderful views of Prague from the hill and the park walkways are pleasant and safe.
If you're traveling in from central Prague you can take the tram numbers 5, 15, 26 to Lipanska or Viktoria Zizkov which are the nearest stops.

Entrance is just across the street from the Zelivskeho subway stop. Yes, Kafka's gravesite is here, but I would recommend strolling around other parts of the cemetery first to get some context. You'll notice how many markers and memorials have dates of death between 1939 and 1945. And then think how many more graves there would have been if so many hadn't been killed in camps during the Holocaust. Remember that this is closed from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning and men should cover their heads.

Most of the reviewer here confuse the Old cemetery in the Jewish quarter with the newer cemetery in Zizkov.

The Zizkov cemetery is located near the TV tower. It used to take up the entirely area of the adjacent park and the area on which the TV tower is built.

Unfortunately most of the cemetery was destroyed under communism and what is left is a small part.

Of note in this cemetery is the grave of the Node BYehuda the illustrious rabbi of Prague and Jewish scholar and his family.

Also don't miss the black monument to the side. During a reconstruction of one of Prague squires it became apparent that the street was paved with blocks varved out of Jewish Grave monuments. The blocks were gathered together to build this haunting memorial to antisemitism.

During my visit at the Atrium mall last Thursday I decided to have a Vietnamese lunch.
There are several restaurant to find at the foodcourt on the upper floor of Atrium mall.
Fortunately a Vietnamese restaurant is also available. When I read their menu, it looks so tempting.
I decided to order the mango salad and a portion of vegetables Spring roll.
When I tasted the Mango salad I don't need to add more spices, it's just perfect!
With the spring roll I did added some hot chilli sauce with it. All tasted so good!
The mango salad is mixed with carrot, boiled shrimps, peanuts and cucumber.
With all of those mix vegetable and mango they added also a very refreshing and tasteful vinegar sauce with palm sugar and chili sauce!
Dear lord, those combination of flavours makes my appetite even more bigger!
Truly my Best lunch ever in Prague.
The counter/cashier woman is really friendly and hulpful.
She took the time to explain me of the different meals on their menu.
Unfortunately, the sittings area behind the restaurant to be more exactly on the right back part is used as a storage place of the kitchen.
The view on this part of the restaurant is less attractive somekind uninviting to be more specific.

At present Kostel Nejvetejsiiho Srdce Pane is in the centre of a building site as Namesti Jiriho Z Podebrad is being renovated but you can still see this church very clearly.
It's a modern church, constructed between 1929-1932 and built from designs from architect Jozef Plecnik ,its totally different from all the churches in Prague of which there are many, this is a more brutalist style of architecture ,the most defining feature of this church is the amazing clock tower ,it's such a unique and very photogenic church that's most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate on Namesti Jiriho Z Podebrad.

I love the Zizkov district of Prague, its a vibrant district, it also has its own football stadium and team ,F.K Viktoria Zizkov.
Its a proper old stadium, bags of character, fans are loyal and noisy ,match night is cool, the bars in the football ground amazing, if you're planning a holiday to Prague and visiting the Zizkov district I highly recommend you visit the stadium which is found along Seifertova.

This monument stands in tribute to Winston Churchill, the British Prime Minister who lead the United Kingdom through the Second World War.

This monument features a bronze sculpture atop a pedestal. The pedestal is made of stone and is engraved with the world CHURCHILL. The sculpture of the made would not look out of place even in the UK. It depicts Churchill as an elderly man wearing a buttoned up long coat, with a grumpy look on his face. The sculpture also shows Churchill using a walking stick to support himself, clearing indicating the depiction of Churchill in his twilight years.

The monument is a little out of place opposite a Trade Union office, but sadly it’s also well away from the main tourist circuit, to the north east of Prague Central Station.

The Church Of St Procopius is one of the most beautiful churches in the Zizkov district.
This beautiful Gothic church was constructed in 1903 and is such an impressive and imposing church, renovated between 1992-1997 ,its such a photogenic church ,one that I highly recommend you visit if you're in the Zizkov district and easy to locate on Sladkovskeho Namesti.

I love the Zizkov district, its one of the most authentic districts of this fascinating city ,great architecture, there's also plenty of green pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants, walking around this great district I passed this great statue that I always love to view.
The work of sculptor's Jaroslav Hasek & Karolina Neprasova ,its a combination of a horse and the bust of a man ,so unique, so photogenic, its most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the Zizkov district and easy to locate on Prokopovo Namesti.

You'll love it here!!! So cool in the summer, it's a perfect hideaway from the city rustle and bustle, in the atmosphere of urban scenery with hammocks randomly placed here in there. It serves as an art venue for a number of concerts, exhibitions, festivals, outdoor movie screenings. Ultimate chill.
