- Spanner2308Cambridge, Australia58 contributionsWent to Eger to try the ‘bulls blood’ wine. Saw the photos of this place online and it looked great. In person it was even more impressive.
The owner and wine maker was extraordinarily welcoming and even drove us into the city when he closed up.
The stunning setting alone makes the place worth visiting but the wine experience and hearing the history of setting up the journey made our day wonderful.Written September 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. And we also have built up a knowledge about diameters of barells😁Written November 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - C T10 contributionsIt was the first winery we visited in the valley and it was a lovely experience. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly just as much as needed without being pushy. Perfect balance. The wines are real treat too, particularly liked the tramini.
Definitely recommended.Written May 31, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The owner asks what types of wines we prefer and serves for tasting telling about the history of the place and the tradition of wine production in the region in English. We bought white Riesling, red Cabernet Sauvignon and rose Cabernet-Zweigel, all perfect and for good price. We fully recommend this place.Written August 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- JLB47Washington DC, DC183 contributionsIf you're in or near Eger—or you're up for an easy train trip from Budapest—you must visit Gál Tibor Winery. This was my second visit, and I introduced two friends to the wine and winery, which is in the center of the city. The tasting started with a visit to the historic cellar. Then we tasted more wine in the beautiful tasting room. The wine is fantastic. My friends, who are serious wine lovers, were duly impressed. I believe there's a bar and restaurant there too, but we didn't investigate those options.Written December 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
