- jbg74Saint Paul, MN1,094 contributionsThis was an excellent art museum. There is a fair amount of modern art which I am mostly not a fan of, but there was a great collection of Soviet era art and an even better collection of 19th and early 20th century Estonian art. There were a couple of good collections of Surrealist art too. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of art and presentation. It is a world class art museum, well worth visiting.Written September 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - nidriksDorset, UK168 contributionsI visited the palace and gardens on my first day in Tallinn. The museum has some wonderful works of art and was a pleasure to wonder.
There was a helpful security guard that helped guide me to the lockers for my bags. Language was a bit of a barrier but he did good. I have to say I felt a little uncomfortable when getting my ticket for the gallery as the woman serving seemed quite short and unimpressed with me. It left me wondering if language would be a huge barrier for my trip to Tallinn. It was a nice little visit though and the gardens are really nice for a wander after.
I am pleased to say that much of Tallinn, over my three days in the city, made up for any bad vibes from day one.Written August 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Many decades of art from all around the world, in such an awesome place and very coolly arranged - a very nice little "escape", suitable for people of all ages.Written August 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stefanie HLincoln, NE1,746 contributionsThis is a cute shop with a museum in the basement. It's free to see and worth a stop. The staff is helpful in deciding what flavors of marzipan to get. The museum has so many different figures made of marzipan, so it's fun for kids to see. You only need a short time for this stop, and it's on the main street coming in to the historic center.Written July 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Zach F81 contributionsLike most travelers, I had not heard of Adamson Eric before visiting Tallinn. It's free to get in with the Tallinn Card, so it's worth a quick visit. Right next to the Short Leg Gate, but the tourists just pass by, so I had the place to myself. Just a few galleries, but a good overview of a new (to me) artist.Written July 18, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Richard BEdinburgh, UK5,184 contributionsMy generosity knows no limits. I could have easily given this a 1 or a 2. However, nice building, decent exhibition of Latin American art. Some nice landscapes and a few other interesting things.
That said, the contemporary art and Soviet era tripe us nothing short of cultural vandalism and crimes against humanity. Put simply (you can call it art), however it is garbage justified by clowns pretending to be profound. An abomination against art and an insult to human civilisation.
