- Tom JLondon, UK1,860 contributionsThe old town wall of Tallinn is truly remarkable, it has stood the test of time and humanity and really transports you back the moment you step foot within the medieval city. The walls are sprawling and seem to go on forever when you are walking around and following them. Within them there are some fascinating museums that can be entered to learn more about the city and its history - a great way to escape the cold and weather!Written November 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul OCounty Monaghan, Ireland6,092 contributionsTram # 1 will take you from the old town centre and drop you at edge of Kadriorg park which is very nice to walk through. The museum itself is an enjoyable and well laid out art museum. A mixture of permanent Estonian art works and international exhibitions. Tallinn card works here.Written November 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Philip LIpswich, UK237 contributionsPart of the fortifications of the old town, these are well worth a visit. They offer great views and photo opportunities of the old town whilst the passages are very extensive and offer further insight into how the people of Tallinn have utilised them over the years. Be prepared for quite a long walk through the passages.Written December 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dave CNorth Walsham, UK16 contributionsI've been to the Teletorn twice: once during the day and once in the evening (for a discounted price). In the evenings, the exhibitions and shop are closed, and you don't get a free welcome drink as promised. During the day, everything is open and the experience is far more enjoyable.Written August 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tom JLondon, UK1,860 contributionsThe old town hall in the main square of old town Tallinn really is quite special. There is no doubt when you are in the old town square it demands attention. Having approached the square from a number of angles over our trip it is easily visible from some way and up close it is just as impressive.
As the only intact gothic town hall standing it is certainly worth spending some time to admire and take photos. That being said at the moment it is hard to get the full side on shot as they are building the huts ready for the Christmas marketsWritten November 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tom JLondon, UK1,860 contributionsWe visited the Viru gates a couple of times whilst on our 48hr trip to Tallinn as it is a pretty crazy tram spot for walking around. The gates are very well preserved and give an interesting thought to how the city would have once been.
We visited at various times of day and first thing in the morning was definitely best if you are looking for uncrowded photos. The nearby square draws a large number of people and there are plenty of shops around as well.Written November 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
