Powell's deserves its own zip code as it occupies (?) a Portland city block of all things wonderful in books, magazines, journals, albums, gifts and coffee shops.
The biggest and greatest physical book store in the world during the era of e-commerce :) although nowadays I prefer reading any books on my Kindle it is a fantastic experience to visit Powell's bookstore.

The Glass Forge

Grants Pass
I've watched, shopped and otherwise hung around with these guys for several years; Lee and Steve lead, in every way, a team of friendly, informative, people that also happens to create beautiful glasswork.
Learning all about the process, seeing the exquisite works of art, and shopping for unique gifts!
Very much enjoyed visiting this unique blown glass shop and seeing the artists and visitors blow glass balls, paper weights and hearts among many other items!
The gentleman at the store was wonderfully helpful as he helped us pick out various items (we were looking for a light to illuminate the ball and we were looking for gifts for family & friends).
So many really neat things to look at, the vendors where all super nice and full of information and suggestions on what to do and see while we was in the area.
Locals and tourists buying treats and weekly shopping.

Loved getting to talk with them about the process of making the art and explore the shop.
We walked to most of the shops but had to try this one as it had a huge variety of flavored popcorns, fudges, jams; so much candy and very unusual flavors.
Many other lovely gifts are available: towels, napkins, trays, etc. Thank heavens they have online shopping and shipping, which is free for purchases over $100.
I wondered into the gift shop section; Alfred shared about the owner of one of his original oil paintings.
It’s very popular, so it’s best to get there earlier if you can as nearby parking is limited and some vendors tend to sell out quickly every weekend.
Fresh fruits and vegetables from local farms are sold, alongside, flowers, jewelry, coffee, etc.
