2nd time visiting. Probably been 15 years since last visit. The pros…The walk to the falls is fun. The falls itself is amazing. The cafe area was a nice place to relax after. The gift shop is spacious and very nice. The castle tower view is awesome. The cons….squeezing so many people into the elevator for the ride up and down is unreal. We were packed like sardines. The walk to the falls itself is fun but several times along the way you are stopped to let other tours go by. The passageways are narrow and this is very awkward. The time spent at the falls is very limited. 5-7 minutes only. Our group was very large, 30-40 people, everyone wanting pictures, so time at the falls was very limited. Then whether you’re done or not, the lights go off and you’re escorted back out. This is nothing against the staff, but the attraction itself for wanting to make as much as possible every day. That’s what businesses do, get you in and out as quick as possible, not mad, just saying!

The falls are very accessible, with both an easy walking path and an even simpler road to take. The ranger station and store are set to be renovated soon, which is exciting. The views are fantastic, offering a great opportunity to connect with nature. My dog absolutely loved exploring and sniffing around!

The best and well maintained state park. The falls are worth the hike to see them. We stayed in the lodge. Nice, clean rooms with a view of the lake. The bathroom had a tub. We walked the trail around the lake, lots of fishing and kyacling.

I love everything about Rock Island. The falls are beautiful of course. But I also enjoy the history and kids parks. I enjoy bringing my dog and watching her happily experience the park. I love the sandy beach along the river. I love the trails and hikes. I’m excited to try the fishing. The little things like Spring Castle and the cotton mill are enjoyable. I love history so those things spark joy in me. It’s always fun to meet new people and exchange pleasantries. And I love taking pictures as well.

Closure, demolition and new construction of the iconic bridge is scheduled for August 2023. Thru traffic will be blocked in the meantime. For those of us who live in Green Cove, a few miles upriver of the falls, traveling to and from town (so called civilization), will be a pain in the ying yang for us. Most of us really consider the falls and old bridge to be our driveways. Sure hope the Forest Service does it right, esp., in preserving the wonder of the place.

We went mid September. The traffic was horrendous and we waited in one way lane for almost an hour to get to the parking lot. You do need a parking pass and they don’t have any at this hike parking lot. There was lots of parking and a bathroom on site which was disgusting. No toilet paper, hand cleaner, the smell was so bad you had to hold your breath and floor was nasty. The hike to waterfall was beautiful. It was a moderate hike with handful of other people on trail. Not too busy at all. Took us about 75 mins to get to waterfall, it was beautiful. We were able to sit off to the side and enjoy the lunch we brought. Took about an hour to get back to vehicle. No traffic on way out but traffic going out of park was insane as they were fixing road and one side of traffic lane was closed so they were taken turns allowing cars from either direction to go. Took us an 1.5hr to go 2miles. Super frustrating

A very nice waterfall. Worth a visit if you can make the hour plus drive from Nashville. When you walk down the path be aware two levels of the waterfall exists and it's worth it to check out the upper level to for a more relaxed experience. The lower falls area is beautiful and there is a nice pool for swimming up to them. There is not much space to sit and no where to stay dry if there is any wind so just expect to be moist at least. Also the water is freezing most of the time so this is a good hot day activity. Please be respectful of the private property and leave no trace. And absolutely please don't take, move, or stack rocks. 5 stars for the kinda people that facilitate access to this treasure.

The Sinks are amazing especially if you can go there when there has been some rain and water levels are up. There are placards there telling how they used to float lumber down the river and it became jammed down they dynamited it, and used too much a blew a big hole in the rock. Very cool area with trains to walk back in on. In warm weather, people dive in from the high rocks.

Very pretty waterfall not far off I-40, only really good view requires a climb down some rocky terrain. Would not recommend for someone with handicap and should keep close eye on kids. Small parking area not terribly well marked so don't miss it

The Blue Hole seems as it would be an isolated and a "hidden Gem" for the Locals ~ not so much. We arrived and only 4 other people were there and everyone was sweet, courteous, helpful and talkative~ perfect envirnoment to relax. The walk to the "hole" was definely a little Tricky ~ WEAR SNEAKERS! Many roots and the steps WOW! Around the hole there is plenty of room all the way around to drip your toes in and/or sit and relax. That is until..

The local School kids come in on a BUS ~ seriously 40 kids unloaded and we knew our time was done there. Can't blame the place ~ it was beautiful!

Oh there is Free parking on the side of the road not a huge lot~ and the walk down only takes about 10 min.

This place is amazing. My wife and I hiked for three days and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. We stayed at the campground three nights and had a great time. The bathroom and shower were cleaned twice each day and the heat felt good when the temperature got in the 30’s. The manager patrolled the campground so we felt safe. I highly recommend camping here. Loved it!

What a fun hike down to see the falls up close. There are plenty of manmade and natural "steps" to get down to the bottom. It is a bit more challenging for younger kids, but still worth the hike.

Loved!!! but be prepared that this is not an easy hike. Was definitely a "moderate/moderate plus" and very worth the hard work! The waterfall/swimming hole is literally a hidden gem. Your legs might be a little shakey at the end but you'll be smiling and proud 😉
