What travellers are saying
- Navigator025929664282 contributionsI can absolutely recommend the Halawa Valley Tour on Molokai! It is one of my top highlights during my Hawaii trip and definitely a must if you are on the island. I took part in it today and am still fascinated and inspired by Greg and his passion for teaching you about Hawaiian culture and history. The hike to the beautiful waterfall was the icing on the cake.
Greg is such a friendly, warm-hearted person and it is impressive how he is connected to nature and shares all his huge knowledge about it.
Mahalo Greg for sharing your culture and showing us your beautiful home. You are doing a great job!Written January 7, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Sent one to my Mom and it got there faster than some other mail dies. You bring your own coconut that needs to be flat on three sides. We used one that a previous customer had left unused. Post office supplies markers and the price to send it depends on where it is going and how much it ways. The mail sticker is put on the coconut to send that way.Written May 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - George APhoenix, AZ309 contributionsWhen we visited, the colony itself was closed off and this is as close as you could get. It's a short hike from the parking lot to the overlook, and there are a couple of explanatory signs about the history of the colony alhtough they are fading. Still, on a clear day not only is it a wonderful view of the tiny colony, but also just stunning views of the ocean and cliffs.Written January 1, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sean CHaleiwa, HI1,782 contributionsBeautiful white sand and gorgeous blue water, We went for an evening stroll and hoped to catch the sunset, but it was too overcast. Maybe because of the weather, this beautiful beach was desolate. We were the only ones there! We had an amazing evening.Written August 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- UsaMelindausa20 contributionsThis hike was the absolute highlight of our time in Molokai. Hiking through a rain forest was cool. Learning about the history of Molokai and the culture of indigenous Hawaiians was even cooler. You will learn so much, get a great work out, and enjoy so much natural beauty. Fantastic experience!Written October 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- sskrollOrlando, FL1,123 contributionsAs we were traveling around the island we came upon a sign for this so decided to check it out. There were a lot of fruit and vegs to pick from and prices were reasonable. At the time we were there papayas were the big draw. Plenty of parking.Written May 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- sskrollOrlando, FL1,123 contributionsBeautiful area. Not a lot of parking but plenty of beach area. Watch for the signs to know where to pull over. It's on the eastern part of Molokai. Nice sand. No lifeguards but nice out of the way beach.Written May 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- kyzrdgMillville, Ca149 contributionsDon’t listen to anyone else that says they can do this is a rental car. Nope! Luckily we had a Jeep Cherokee. Take the road near the cemetery and keep going. When the road gets to your first Y in the road, stay right. The first couple of miles aren’t that bad but then the road starts to get really rutted as soon as you start to climb. The 5 mile mark you will see a gate. If you have any doubt about your ability to drive the road or your vehicle, use this area to turn around now. The road gets worse from here until you get to a parking area at the overlook. You’ll park here and hike the rest. The boardwalk and surrounding area are wet and the weather can change quickly. Bring rain gear. Once you get to the end there are a few places to have lunch and the view of the valley all the way to the sea is amazing. It’s worth it! Remember to keep track of time because you have to go back down the road and it would be much harder in the dark.
CHECK THE WEATHER PRIOR TO GOING. DO NOT GO UP THE HILL IF IT HAS BEEN RAINING.Written March 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Shared his knowledge of the area and learned about the history of the farm while we toured the land. Wandered with my family to pick plumerias. Once we had enough, we were showed how to sew leis. We had fun laughing with the owner as he taught us his beautiful trade.Written July 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gregory HReno, NV104 contributionsThis little cove is way down at the end of road. It is very small and very secluded. A good place to swim and sit in the sun. I did not have snorkel gear with me but I would think that it would be a good place to snorkel. If you have a kayak it would be a very good place to launch. The waves do not break on the beach on a calm day getting out into the ocean would be very easy.Written April 17, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
