Visited Wild is Life for a second time when I was back in town with a few colleagues and it didn’t disappoint. A must do for anyone visiting Harare!

Hospitable hosts Tom and Emma plus their knowledgeable guides have done an amazing job of presenting high-quality Shona stone sculptures, old as well as modern styles, in a wonderfully manicured garden and patio. If you go for quality rather than quantity, this is the place for you.

Located just 5 kilometers on the cities outskirts of Harare, the Mukuvisi Woodlands is the ideal spot to spend a personal day out of the office to unwind and have some personal time or spend time with loved ones. The quiet and tranquil nature reserve has many hidden and nestled layby resting spots to which one can either have a picnic or simply soak up all of the wildlife and natural attraction around the reserve. Offering a whole jungle’s worth of fauna and flora. The entire woodland reserve covers more than 200 hectares, and if you’re lucky you’ll get a glimpse of impalas, giraffes, crocodiles, and zebras. Other conventional activities include guided pony rides and bird walks, of which I highly doubt one would part take in as the ambiance at Mukuvisi is so relaxing, one can not but enjoy the serenity over a cold beverage from the nearby coffee shop. And to cap off the experience, one the way out a souvenir store in which to purchase a keepsake of what will no doubt ably a day to remember.

The best place to visit is you are a bird lover. Learning about the birds and up close and enjoying the drills with the birds, it was amazing. Also a great view of the Lake and a perfect place for outing.

Dear friends arranged an outing to Thetford Game Reserve to celebrate my birthday with me. You will need to book well ahead of time as this is a popular attraction and well worth including in your itinerary. I visited in 2018, but I'm not able to click an earlier date than Feb 2020.

Amazing animal sanctuary to volunteer or go for a day visit with family and friends. So many different exotic animals, all rescued and well taken care of. Nice staff and guides who are happy to show you and share the animals stories. And also have a chat with Casper, the coolest Cockatoo who even enjoys a cuddle ;-)

Went here with the kids on a day trip from Harare. Had a land cruiser. Would not have been happy without a 4wd. We did self drive. Probably should have hired a guide so we could see rhinos (we didn’t see them). Had fun by ourselves though and saw lots of other stuff. Had a lovely picnic at bushman’s point. Facilities are a bit run down but far cheaper than private well maintained parks so you get what you pay for. We also had the place largely to ourselves mid week and that was novel. The attached map would be handy (we only got it at the end).

About an hour out from Harare we went with a local family to walk up the gentle slopes. Slightly taken aback by the 10$ charge just to walk up the hill. Follow the yellow arrows were the instructions.
The panoramic views are worth the effort. Also stayed for the sunset and the lovely warm glow casting shadows. Remember that the sun sets quickly so walking back in the dark was interesting - suggest take a torch with you
