This is a castle site first developed by the Swedes with a log fort and finally passed down to the British who built the fort into its final form. It has slave dungeons and a gate of no return. There is an admission cost, bathrooms and exhibits.

A well preserved fort/castle that has passed through Portuguese, Dutch and British hands over the years. A place where you can learn about some of the terrible injustices of Empire and the slave trade. Not an easy visit but a necessary and worthwhile one that teaches us the importance of history and the lessons we need to learn. The guides are knowledgable and informative.
