What travellers are saying
- GeorgeArtemida, Greece1,539 contributionsIt's the most interesting part of Yerevan. It's a pretty long walk from opera - down town - to Mother Armenia statue via a chain bridge, a chain stair and victory Park...Written February 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GeorgeArtemida, Greece1,539 contributionsOk it's Yerevan's main and central square but there are not many things to do or see around... Especially during winter when the fountains are not operating.Written February 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GeorgeArtemida, Greece1,539 contributionsVery Impressive building but inside there are not many things to see... Unless you are specialised in ancient transcripts... Entrance fee is so small so in case you don't have anything else to do is a nice walk...Written February 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A memorial to the million+ who died in the Armenian genocide, perpetuated by Ottoman then Turkish forces after WWI. A somber site indeed.Written November 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Dirk WAlexandra Headland, Australia6,464 contributionsThe Armenian Genocide Museum is ipso facto not a "pleasant" visit. It is a powerful, sobering experience to see the horrors that were inflicted on a whole population. Especially the photos of children will haunt you forever. It is scary to see how quickly this thin layer of civilization can get eroded under the right circumstances.
I found the museum a little confusing because there are so many events : I think it is critical to read some history books before arriving and it certainly helps to have a guide with you.Written November 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - hajar S1 contributionIt was a guided tour. Our leader was Jemma. She was a really fantastic leader: she did her job from deep of her heart. She wasn't just explaining, but she was acting in such a good way that all she said could be easily believed and accepted. I thank her for her fantastic job.Written February 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
