- John_C_LdnLondon, UK430 contributionsThe view from Daman-e-Koh is lovely on a good day, but the increasing levels of pollution make them almost invisible on many days. It is a lovely spot, now with many stalls selling trinkets and food, as well as a small group of rides for children. There is also an increasing number of wild monkeys - they are fun to see and photograph, but don't feed them or annoy themWritten December 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Haytham Abu FirasQatar21,546 contributionsPakistan Monument Museum is located in Shakarparian hills in zero point interchange, Islamabad. Such a wonderful museum, giving the visitors a great information about Pakistan history and famous leaders, during independence and rulers of Pakistan. Sultan Mahmoud Ghaznawi, Mohammad Iqbal, Mohammad Ali Jinnah the founder of Pakistan and oth. A wonderful section about Azad Kashmir, Muslim conquest of subcontinent, the first war of independence, and section about Iqbal the famous poet with his rule. We visited Quaid’s relics, Ghandi-Jinnah talks 1944, migration of Muslims after independence to the now called Pakistan. Entrance ticket is 1000 PKR for tourists and 100 PKR for locals.Written February 20, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Zach KhanIslamabad Capital Territory, Pakistan13 contributionsTrail 5 in Margalla Hills offers a serene escape into nature, blending breathtaking views with diverse wildlife. Perfect for all fitness levels, it starts with an easy path and gradually challenges seasoned hikers. The lush greenery, flowing streams, and chirping birds create a tranquil atmosphere. With well-maintained tracks and spots for rest, it’s a must-visit for adventurers and nature lovers in Islamabad. Best explored during early mornings or cooler months, Trail 5 delivers a memorable experience, whether you’re hiking for fitness or simply soaking in nature’s beauty. Don’t forget water and comfortable shoes!Written January 21, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Haytham Abu FirasQatar21,546 contributionsThe Pakistan Monument is an amazing architectural beauty. It is kind of petal shaped structure. It reflects Pakistan's provinces' heritage, culture, diversity and unity.
The four main provinces are Punjab, Balochistan, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. While the three smaller ones for the territories.
Entry to the area of Pakistan Monument is free but not to the museum. Such a great place to explore. Never miss while in Islamabad.Written February 25, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Sorry there were no options to select year 2015 so selected the last option. We reached there around 3 or 4..visited the temple and then had lunch at the restaurant.. It was such a nice experience sitting close to nature and history. I would love to visit again.Written July 11, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Frances BYorkshire, UK2,694 contributionsRawal Lake is impressive in its size. The day I visited it appeared tranquil and serene.
If you are arriving by vehicle then access to the lake is gained through parking your vehicle in the very large parking areas and then walking down to the lakeside or catching the small land train that shuttles visitors backwards and forwards.
The setting of the park and lake is beautiful. There is a tree lined avenue of Jacaranda trees that looked so pretty.
There are also numerous stall holders selling drinks, snacks and ice creams and games to play. The place has a happy and friendly vibe.
Once you walk to the lakeside edge you are afforded a great view of the lake. There is a covered viewing area and also an open viewing area, all great for photographs.
A big disappointment for me was the rubbish some visitors choose to dispose of in an irresponsible fashion. Litter bins are provided but I did notice litter both in the lake and around the parkland area. I hate seeing litter anywhere, let alone beauty spots like this.
There is lots of parkland to enjoy and many areas covered by tree canopies providing some shade from the sun.
This is a lovely place to visit and stroll around. I was told it is quieter during the day, probably due to the heat and that it is at night that it gets much busier.Written June 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A place to spend a great time with friends and family. Free entry, a lot of parking area at your own risk. We used lifts and escalators to reach to the Food court at Level 5 I think. I found Al Baik, a famous Saudi restaurant. Mall is not crowded like others.Written February 21, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
