- Elona KoganLachine, Canada3 contributionsAs a veteran health professional , I
feel compelled to write this review . Adiel simply checked all our boxes -and then some .His exceptional professionalism was only outmatched by his grace and kindness . The 4 hour tour seemed to go by in a moment- it not only covered the highlights of history but masterfully woven in to this delivery were rich stories , his lovely sense of humour and an ongoing thoughtfulness for our needs and interests - I would not hesitate to recommend his services and I absolutely look forward to future tours with Adiel . It was especially important to me because my daughter was volunteering as a physician for an event with Sheba hospital and she only had one afternoon to visit Jerusalem - She also looooved her tour with Adiel.🩵💙Written September 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SallyEdgware, UK10 contributionsA visit to Jerusalem is like no other in that it is a truly religious city for many different people. The city itself is undergoing enormous regeneration and the buildings are very well designed. The bus service is like no other and can take you all over the country at very cheap prices. The light rail runs through the centre of town and the new Main line station, Navon has to be experienced. The trains are new, modern and very clean and access is down five escalators. The journey to Tel Aviv is partly underground which is a pity as it is not possible to see all the land which is wonderful.Written August 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gabriel APloiesti, Romania4,917 contributionsHere we find millenary olive trees.
This garden is important for Christian believers, because here our Lord Jesus Christ rested and prayed, before being arrested by the guards.Written April 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As a devout believer in Jesus, my visit to Montes das Oliveiras was an incredibly profound and spiritual experience. However, even for those who may not share the same religious beliefs, this destination offers breathtaking views that are sure to leave you in awe. Prepare to be captivated by the natural beauty and the historical significance that Montes das Oliveiras has to offer.

For believers, this is a place where you can connect with your faith on a deep level and feel the power and presence of Jesus. The atmosphere is imbued with a sense of reverence and spirituality, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking a sacred experience.
Apart from its religious significance, Montes das Oliveiras boasts breathtaking views that are nothing short of spectacular. As I stood atop the hill, I was greeted with a panoramic vista that stretched as far as the eye could see. The rolling landscape, covered in lush green olive trees, seemed to extend endlessly, painting a picturesque scene. The gentle breeze, the warm sunlight, and the symphony of chirping birds added to the enchanting ambiance of the place. I could easily spend hours simply admiring the beauty that surrounded me.
One particular highlight of my visit was witnessing the Apocalypse Gates. These ancient gates hold immense historical and biblical importance. Standing before them, I couldn't help but marvel at the stories and events that unfolded within their vicinity. It was a humbling experience, reminding me of the rich history and the profound impact this region has had on countless individuals throughout the ages. Whether you are a history enthusiast or simply appreciate the grandeur of ancient architecture, the Apocalypse Gates are sure to leave a lasting impression.
In addition to its spiritual and scenic allure, Montes das Oliveiras offers easy access to other significant landmarks in the region. Overall, Montes das Oliveiras is a destination that transcends religious boundaries. Whether you visit to deepen your faith or simply to soak in the stunning views, this place will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression. - ECladyWestchester County, NY137 contributionsMust visit if you're in Jerusalem . Some of the really quirky little shops are still there with great stuff at low prices. But each time we go, with a year or two in between, there are more and more restaurants and fewer shops.Written July 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - rafaelrabelloCampinas, SP182 contributionsAmazing feeling being there.
We were there on a Sunday: mass started 6am and ended 7am.
The tomb opened right after the mass at 7am. People following the mass were the first to enter.
Absolutely no lines at this time. Me and my wife could enter there twice with a 2min. maximum line.
So the recommendation is to arrive early in the morning. Tomb opening time on Sunday: 7am. Mess start on Sunday: 6am.Written June 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. In this church is located the rock on which Jesus Christ prayed in his last days of life.
It's a large and monumental church.
It's very important landmark of Jerusalem, visited by the faithful pilgrims who arrived here.Written April 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeffry bEssendon, Australia13,591 contributionsThe Temple Mount adjoins the Old City of Jerusalem. It is sacred to Muslims, Jews and Christians. The Temple Mount is a plateau. The Al Aksa Mosque is the third holiest site in Islam. The Dome of the Rock is quite fascinating, it is said that Mohamad rode his magic horse Barak to heaven, where he conversed with the Prophets. You can see Barak's hoof print. Orthodox Jews often pray on the Temple Mount, which is the site of the ancient Temple. - I visited this place🇺🇸🇫🇷🇨đź‡đź‡¬đź‡·đź‡¬đź‡§Israel35,276 contributionsPROS
* An essential tourist destination, with much stuff from the Second Temple 2000 years ago during the time of Jesus, but also but there is a wall from First Temple times
* The most modern and clean and shiny and pleasant and open of the four quarters of the Old City of Jerusalem
* Many small historical museums and amazing ancient architectural and archaeological wonders
* Experience and observe close-up the day-to-day life of an intense ultra-orthodox Jewish lifestyle
* Numerous bright and shiny kosher food places, all with the "elegant" supervision
CONS
* Crowded with residents, Israelis and tourists
* A very active and lively neighborhood of families doing their lives
* Confusing combinations of narrow warrens of walkways, alleys, and dead ends.
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
It is free to walk there
"IVISITED THIS PLACE"...
... again this year, on my return from participating in commemoration events of the destruction of that Holy Jewish Temple.
WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" again?
Sure
ADVICE
* It is essential to go and explore
* Visit the historical museums
* Imbibe the "vibe" of the area
* Observe the residents doing their daily lifeWritten August 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - I visited this place🇺🇸🇫🇷🇨đź‡đź‡¬đź‡·đź‡¬đź‡§Israel35,276 contributionsPROS
* Fashionable glitzy and bright outdoor outdoor shopping mall
* Famous and exclusive upscale stores
* A large number of truly high quality restaurants, all of them with kosher supervision, and most with the "elegant" variety
* Mingle with locals who are shopping and dining too
* From here is the main access point to Jaffa Gate entrance to Old City of Jerusalem
* Sometimes there are street musicians and entertainers
* Historic area where the founder of the state first resided
• Two large underground parking garages
CONS
• It’s a shopping mall
• Minimal intrinsic tourist interest
* Gathering and meeting place or all kinds of tourist groups and youth
* Parking in both garages is complicated, congested with unhealthy polluted air to breath and expensive
"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... with Mrs. Place and two teenage boys while going to and returning from the annual commemoration of the 25 hour fast on the calendar date that the Jewish Temple was destroyed 1954 years ago.
We walked through and looked at all the stores, which were active at night after the conclusion of the fast day
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
Going there and being there is free; buying anything anywhere is expensive
WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE AGAIN?"
Yes if I have a reason to be there
ADVICE
* If you need to see an outdoor upscale shopping mall, you can do that here
* If you need to see the integration of Jewish and Arab Israelis who shop and work here together, you can do that here.
* There is a large density of quality restaurants in the city- take advantage of that and have a meal while you are there- Cafe Rimon (milky), Cafe Greg (milky), Roladin (milky) and Aroma (milky), but avoid Joy Meat (meaty) which is way too expensive (see my previous reviews of those placesWritten August 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
