What travellers are saying
- Elona KoganLachine, Canada3 contributionsAs a veteran health professional , I
feel compelled to write this review . Adiel simply checked all our boxes -and then some .His exceptional professionalism was only outmatched by his grace and kindness . The 4 hour tour seemed to go by in a moment- it not only covered the highlights of history but masterfully woven in to this delivery were rich stories , his lovely sense of humour and an ongoing thoughtfulness for our needs and interests - I would not hesitate to recommend his services and I absolutely look forward to future tours with Adiel . It was especially important to me because my daughter was volunteering as a physician for an event with Sheba hospital and she only had one afternoon to visit Jerusalem - She also looooved her tour with Adiel.🩵💙Written September 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gabriel APloiesti, Romania4,910 contributionsHere we find millenary olive trees.
This garden is important for Christian believers, because here our Lord Jesus Christ rested and prayed, before being arrested by the guards.Written April 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As a devout believer in Jesus, my visit to Montes das Oliveiras was an incredibly profound and spiritual experience. However, even for those who may not share the same religious beliefs, this destination offers breathtaking views that are sure to leave you in awe. Prepare to be captivated by the natural beauty and the historical significance that Montes das Oliveiras has to offer.
Upon arriving at Montes das Oliveiras, I was immediately struck by the serene atmosphere that permeates the area. The peacefulness and tranquility create the perfect ambiance for prayer, meditation, and reflection. For believers, this is a place where you can connect with your faith on a deep level and feel the power and presence of Jesus. The atmosphere is imbued with a sense of reverence and spirituality, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking a sacred experience.
Apart from its religious significance, Montes das Oliveiras boasts breathtaking views that are nothing short of spectacular. As I stood atop the hill, I was greeted with a panoramic vista that stretched as far as the eye could see. The rolling landscape, covered in lush green olive trees, seemed to extend endlessly, painting a picturesque scene. The gentle breeze, the warm sunlight, and the symphony of chirping birds added to the enchanting ambiance of the place. I could easily spend hours simply admiring the beauty that surrounded me.
One particular highlight of my visit was witnessing the Apocalypse Gates. These ancient gates hold immense historical and biblical importance. Standing before them, I couldn't help but marvel at the stories and events that unfolded within their vicinity. It was a humbling experience, reminding me of the rich history and the profound impact this region has had on countless individuals throughout the ages. Whether you are a history enthusiast or simply appreciate the grandeur of ancient architecture, the Apocalypse Gates are sure to leave a lasting impression.
In addition to its spiritual and scenic allure, Montes das Oliveiras offers easy access to other significant landmarks in the region. Visitors can explore nearby attractions such as the Church of All Nations and the Garden of Gethsemane, which hold deep religious significance and provide further insight into the history of the area.
Overall, Montes das Oliveiras is a destination that transcends religious boundaries. Whether you visit to deepen your faith or simply to soak in the stunning views, this place will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression. The combination of its spiritual aura, breathtaking vistas, and historical importance makes it a must-visit location for anyone traveling to Israel. Prepare to be moved, inspired, and mesmerized by the wonders of Montes das Oliveiras.Written July 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The site of the Garden Tomb is supported by evangelical Christians, and Mormons. Orthodox Christians support the Holy Sepulcher as the site of Christ's. resurrection. - MooshLACalabasas, CA593 contributionsFirst and foremost, these tours (both Bridge and Rock tours) are well worth a visit. I have been to Israel many times however this was the first that I purchased tickets to experience the lower section. It was quite a cool experience. I opted for the English tours and my guide Sharon was outstanding. I look forward to returning in the future once additional areas are opened up.
Suggestions:
*Wear comfortable shoes
*If you have issues with narrow passageways, this tour may not be for you as it traverses long narrow walkways for a majority of the tour,
*You walk for 70% of the time so be prepared.
*The tours are stacked and in between they flow in bar mitzvah groups which tend to get loud and disruptive to the paid group tours.
*Be sure to check in at least 15-20 minutes before your tour (they suggest 30).
*Each tour lasts 60-70 minutes each.
*Be ready to learn quite a bit about the First and Second Temples which I found to be very informative and interesting for as much as I have learned during my school days.Written July 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Some of the really quirky little shops are still there with great stuff at low prices. But each time we go, with a year or two in between, there are more and more restaurants and fewer shops.Written July 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gabriel APloiesti, Romania4,910 contributionsChurch of All Nations, known and as Basilica of the Agony is situated on the Mount of Olives, near Gethsemane Garden in East Jerusalem.
In this church is located the rock on which Jesus Christ prayed in his last days of life.
It's a large and monumental church.
It's very important landmark of Jerusalem, visited by the faithful pilgrims who arrived here.Written April 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You learn a lot about the Jewish presence on the Temple Mount and lots about the history.
This is also great as a family activity.

The tunnel shaft that King David used to surprise the enemy so he could take over this mountain; the place where King David set up a tent to house the Ark of the Covenant, the pool where Solomon was anointed as the person to succeed his father as the next king; inscribed seals of known people during the reign of King Josiah, and inscribed seal of Jeremiah's scribe when Jeremiah was commanded to redeem his relative's property.
These evidences and more of Biblical history await you.Written June 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - I visited this place🇺🇸🇫🇷🇨🇭🇬🇷🇬🇧Israel35,329 contributionsPROS
* Nice big zoo emphasizing animals of the Bible
* Spacious and greenery- barely ever crowded
* Activities for children
* Little children's train
* Nice merger of Jewish and Arab Israelis working and visiting together
CONS
* It is big and uphill
* It is costly- 54 ILS for anyone over age 2
* Parking is barely adequate on a busy day, and can be haphazard- some of the parking requires a longer walk over a bridge over the Israel Railways track, and that's not necessarily easy for parents and grandparents with prams and push chairs.
"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... when I took four young boys, ages 9, 6, 5 and 2 for a Friday afternoon. We saw the monkeys, the penguins and elephants and other stuff. The boys wanted to ride the silly little train, so that's what we did. That was an extra charge and any organized queue was non existent
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
Not really- I wouldn't care to necessarily pay again.
WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
Not really, unless i was escorting young ones again
ADVICE
* It's a good zoo with stuff to see and big dusty play areas and climbing stuff
* It's big and uphill
* It's costly
* Parking is not easy

It can hold 5,000 worshippers for Friday prayers. The Al Aqsa Mosque is on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
