The National Museum of Beirut is one of the Must visits in Lebanon.
The museum has very rare and old pieces of antique and jewelries. It was rennovated several times due to war then natural disasters (flood) but they were able to preserve all their antique items.
There is a very interesting history and path behind this museum worth visiting and exploring.

Surprisingly amasing. This private museum of mineral stones. The variety of the stones and their shapes are astonishing. It is a must visit!

Great place to visit. There are some shops where you can buy and some restaurants where you can eat well. I recommend it 100%

Congested, careful walking as not pedestrian friendly when crossing the streets, but that is for all of Beirut. There were many great shops for buying tourist gifts and everything was reasonably priced. Also, places to snack are around.

**Pigeon Rocks**, or **Raouche Rocks**, are iconic natural landmarks located in the **Raouche** district of **Beirut**, Lebanon. These massive limestone formations rise dramatically from the Mediterranean Sea and are among the most photographed sites in the country. The rocks, believed to have formed due to seismic activity, stand as a striking symbol of Beirut’s coastline.

Visitors can enjoy the view of Pigeon Rocks from the nearby **Corniche**, a scenic seaside promenade perfect for walking, jogging, or enjoying a coffee while admiring the rocks. For a closer look, boat tours are available that allow you to navigate around the formations and explore their beauty up close.

Pigeon Rocks are also associated with legends and cultural significance. One story ties the rocks to ancient Phoenician mythology, while others see them as a symbol of resilience and natural beauty amidst the vibrant city of Beirut.

At sunset, the view becomes even more magical, with the rocks silhouetted against the orange and pink hues of the sky, making it a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike.

Very nice mosque - the most impressive I have seen in Lebanon. You may enter the mosque between 8:30 - 11:00 most days. The interior design is also beautiful with large chandeliers and mosaics.

The Beirut Corniche is probably one of most beautiful promenades if you want to make a long and relaxing walk. Starting at the Zaytunay Bay this promenade stretches out for several km's with some nice view points such as the pigeon rocks. Even during the cooler winter-month of december people love to stroll along this open area. We were lucky with the weather so for us it felt more or less like spring. Most enjoyable to watch the fishermen at the shore. Even when the evening falls there are still lots of people gathering together. There are a lot of new buildings but now and then you can find some older buildings in between which gives the environment a typical feeling.

Beautiful place - I could access it thanks to a Lebanese friend who guided me to visit the libraries. Very peaceful spots and a number of trees, a beautiful place.

Stayed in a hostel in this area, very chic neighborhood filled with many restaurants and bars. Walking distance from the new large mosque built in Lebanon. Highly recommend spending a night here with friends

The cathedral at time of visit was in the restricted downtown zone but as a tourist you could access. Cathedral open to visitors and beautifully decorated inside. Remarkable history. Must visit Beirut site.

Hamra Street has some shops and restaurants that I always enjoy visiting when I am in Hamra, but nothing outstanding that I have seen.
