- AleroviajeraMaldonado, Uruguay4 contributionsThe sea lions one more tourist.
The Punta del Este port has simple access. Good lighting. Small and medium size boats. Amplitude of schedules in high season.
Excellent views of the island.
Wonderful options for sunrise and /or sunset photos.
Well organized and clean.Written April 25, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - soniawasabiBuenos Aires, Argentina6,015 contributionsI am not a wine lover so I cant tell about it. I really enjoy traveling, landscapes, nature, architecture and food!
I found Vina Eden very nice in all those things I like...but so expensive that I wasn't able to make the tour and have lunch. I chose to have lunch...and it was just OK. Very little portions, nothing special. Everything looks amazing but I find it quite disappointing.
So if you have a lot of time, you are a wine lover and you have a BIG budget, you can visit Vina Eden. Otherwise just take a look and have a cup of coffee in the lovely restaurant!Written February 1, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Red-Super-HeroTampa, FL246 contributionsPlenty of different machines to play on. there is a bar with food. They bring your drinks to the machine. Nice staff.Written March 2, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- mks1122Atlanta, GA28 contributionsThe museum, nestled in a quiet neighborhood, contains mostly modern sculptures, paintings, and lithographs by Latin artists. In addition to permanent exhibits, several temporary exhibits, including one by Alexander Calder, were on display. The lighting and space were pleasing. Admission is free and the museum is small enough to visit in an hour or two.Written April 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Filo51 contributionsTourists from all over the world seem to love to get their picture taken at this curiously famous sculpture on the ocean-side of the PdE peninsula.Written October 21, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- WoodyAshGuildford67 contributionsFree. Sublime. Great statues. Great walk. Did I mention Free? Just wonderful. And you get to meet the Great man himself. A charmer.Written March 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- DuquesadinerGlasgow, UK1,403 contributionsIf you visit Uruguay and spend time in Montevideo then take a trip to Punta del Este it will certainly make you see the difference between the two places. The latter makes you think of some of the best resorts on the Gulf of Mexico, even some of the better European resorts. The beach here is lovely, the water warmer than you might expect and it is very, very clean - a real contrast with the capital. Well worth a visit.Written April 6, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Filo51 contributionsa good inland location for the family to go and enjoy a day together.
plan to take a picnic and some sunscreen.Written October 21, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - GoGo2SlowGoDenton, TX1,527 contributionsIt's the 3rd tallest in the world. Built in 1858, it is 194-feet high, and home to over 200,000 sea lions. It is the second largest colony of sea lions in the world. We could barely make out the sea lions from the playa, but we could hear them! The lighthouse is very visible. We didn’t have a chance to go out to the lighthouse on a tour boat, but our guide said there are tours that will take you there.Written February 22, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Christina MTvedestrand, Aust-Agder, Norway48 contributionsThis is a revolving restaurant really central in Punta Del Este and definitely worth visiting. The entrance fee is $8 USD and the food at the restaurant is rather expensive. Most everything on the menu is $10+ USD, but the experience and the view is well worth it.Written March 13, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Filo51 contributionsAs it happened, I was given an surprisingly detailed tour by a friend who knew the arboretum very well.
There are an amazingly broad range of trees that are non-native, but have flourished there.Written October 21, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Filo51 contributionsThis street has mostly tourist-related shops and restaurants, but there are also other businesses which seem to flourish year-round.Written October 21, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- RandyRossRidgetown, Canada9,068 contributionsThis is a nice church in the centre of town, right next to the lighthouse. We drove by on our way out to tour an olive farm and then I sopped by again while walking around town. This was a nice church but not elaborate or fancy like many.Written April 26, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- RandyRossRidgetown, Canada9,068 contributionsThis lighthouse is one of the few old landmarks in this very modern city. It is not possible to go inside but it makes for a nice photo.Written April 26, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
