We had an amazing experience with Jack! He was very kind (and perfectly on time) and let us connect to the Bluetooth of the car for music which as amazing! He provided water and fruit and gave us all the time we wanted to view the wall. Even on the way back he brought us to a big supermarket which we asked for , as we are taking a train tomorrow. Jack thank you very much it was a wonderful day! Greetings from Amsterdam , kiek and Val :)

Nancy was an amazing tour guide - very knowledgeable and friendly! She truly made our experience in the forbidden city amazing! She even recommended some additional places and restaurants for us to visit during our stay. Highly recommend!

Everything was perfect and on time. The driver was waiting for us at the airport terminal and was very helpful throughout the trip. We will have great memories of our visit to Beijing.

Tour guide Jack and driver Xia are amazing. They are very informative and accomodating to our request to detour for a quick drive by of Tiananmen. Jack is very attentive and explains the history of not only tour destinations but also places along the way in depth. Very happy with the experience. 10 out of 10 definitely would recommend to anyone who wants to have a fun packed day in style and comfort.

We took the tour with Great Wall Hiking in early July. The entire process was smooth and professional.

I contacted Gary about the hike in May. He was prompt to reply. In our interactions, he was always clear, friendly, and flexible. His English is impeccable. The information in the PDF provided by the company is clear and detailed.

On the day of the hike, our guide Jason and our driver Mr Zhang arrived early to pick us up. Jason is a great guide — he’s open, knowledgeable, and has interesting perspectives to share. The pace of the hike was good, Jason’s explanations were informative, and the lunch was tasty. We left and came back as per schedule.

When we look back on our trip, this tour was a highlight. We spent one month in China, went to many museums, historical sites, etc. The Great Wall tops anything I have seen in China and elsewhere in the world. There is just no other place that will offer you both a site of great historical significance and human genius, but also breath-taking views of nature. Hiking the wall means walking over mountains for kilometers onwards on a historical monument.

Could you do this on your own and pay less? Sure. But it would probably a pain. Knowing exactly which part of the wall to go to, getting dropped and picked up there, getting to speak to an informed local with a rich background… That’s all worth the price, especially since China is only slowly reopening to foreigners and there are many hurdles to get over. If you want to have a perfect, worryfree experience, I’d recommend you book the tour immediately.

I’m already thinking about when I can go back next and book the longer trip with Great Wall Hiking!

We had the chance to immerse ourselves in the history of imperial China, visiting the Forbidden City and Tian’anmen Square, with our guide Sherry (LiMei), whose knowledge of Chinese history is very deep. She made our experience magical.
The traditional lunch was a special and precious experience too.

Great trip to the Great Wall. Driver gave some very good advise to go up with the lift and not with the cable car. Prooved to be absolutely right! We left the hotel early in the morning and I was one of the first tourists up there - makes Schuhe difference to the hours later in the day

This day trip from Beijing was amazing. Our driver and vehicle were great and our tour guide Maggie was exceptional, really friendly and knowledgeable. She was happy to tailor the trip to suit us, and knew all the best spots on the wall to stop. Knowledgable and an amazing photographer! The tea tasting at the end is a must do too!

The tour was overall very good except a stop in a jade store. We spend more time in the so called “jade factory “ than in the Great Wall.

I highly recommend Linda as a guide in China. Her knowledge and English were 2nd to none. She was also very accomodating for late minute changes in schedules.

Jinshanling great wall is 2h30 away by car from Beijing City. I visited there at end of January. I was amazed there was nobody visiting there. I encountered only one Chinese family during my whole hike! The east gate is closed during winter season, so the total distance you could hike could be shorter than in Summer(4km approx), but even though, being able to enjoy the great views without anybody was priceless experience. My driver Mr. Ping spoke very good English and made sure that I enjoyed the visit. I'd like to thank him.

This is my second time in Beijing in 13 years. The first time I was here I was with a group of coworkers and we saw all the major highlights: Great Wall, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square. This time around I traveled alone and seeing the city at night takes it to another level.

I want to thank my driver and my amazing tour guide (and my new friend) Wendy for how thoughtful, fun, informative and caring they were throughout the evening. Wendy greeted me inside the hotel lobby and throughout the night was explaining the history of the city and what I was seeing throughout the tour. She was the best! I hope others get to have Wendy as part of their own night tour. She’s a good and kind person full of energy! We had a blast together.

Two things to note about my specific experience:

-I was the only person my tour. (I stayed Feb 16-Feb 27, during the non-busy season so there were hardly any tourists)

-I booked this tour NOT knowing it would fall on Beijing’s big Lantern Festival which marked the final day of the traditional Chinese New Year celebrations. That said, my tour was slightly different because streets were blocked. BUT - it didn't bother me one bit. it only added to the fun of the night to see all the celebrations and people filled with good joy.

I did the learned about Chinese tea and did an excellent tea tasting (and purchased some to take home), went to the Hutongs/Muji Hotel Mall /night market area, Tiananmen Square, CBD landmarks, National Centre for the Performing Arts, CCTV (drive by), Bird’s Nest (drive by).

It was a cold night, but it didn’t bother me because I had a wonderful time. Seeing the city at night with all lights and excitement is something I absolutely recommend if you have about four or five hours in the evening.

Great experience - the tour operator Jenny was very helpful and communicative. Our driver Fred was a lovely chap and dropped us right in the heart of the city after the tour. Great wall was fantastic and quiet at our time of arrival. One thing to note - at the summer palace, there is a second ticket barrier before entering the big tower - make sure to arrive here before the afternoon ticket expires (3pm) or a second entry must be purchased.
