I particularly enjoyed the second restaurant, a longstanding family establishment tucked away out of public view; the noodles there were to die for! Winnie was an excellent guide who took care of everyone's needs and made friends and strangers alike feel at home. I particularly appreciated the cultural and historical context she provided about the dishes. Peter was very open and flexible to our wishes. No hidden commercial activities or shopping, just 100% dedicated to showing us the best parts of Beijing, including an amazing Peking Duck dinner and a tryly local restaurant. Miko was friendly, courteous, and incredibly helpful throughout the tour. His knowledge of the local cuisine and culture was an added bonus to our exploration, making it both enjoyable and informative. - Joey7 contributionsThe beauty of the ice cube and bird’s nest stands out at night. Appreciated knowing the meaning behind the blue color and red color chosen respectively. Even the opera house with her changing colors is so beautiful. Tried some traditional dishes along the Hutong. Wonderful experience to see Beijing lighten up at night. - JustMe1 contributionOur tour guide Linda was very knowledgeable and Beijing and Chinese history, the tour was relaxed and we got to sample plenty of local snacks along the way. Linda even took the trouble to buy and drop off breakfast for us at the hotel after the tour ended, knowing that we had a full and hectic schedule the next day. - Russia-Mongolia-China2019Reno, NV3 contributionsMy adult son and I spent two-and-a-half days/ two nights in Beijing in July 2019. This tour with Anson was the highlight of our trip. His English, knowledge of Chinese history, food, beer and the Hutong was outstanding. He and his driver were came by at our hotel to pick up up on time, and took us to all the promised spots. Anson was gregarious and generous with his time and knowledge, and would have stayed out even longer with us had we not had an early appointment the following morning. We had a most excellent time. - robertatravels143Los Angeles, CA2 contributionsThis was a great evening - we were a group of three, myself, my husband and our 9 year old son and we all enjoyed this activity a lot. The Mongolian village was great - 20 yurts with entertainment and cool camel and goat with 4 horns! Food was great, and our tour guide - nicknamed Cactus - was so helpful with the ordering and making sure we got the right food and right amount. She also got great family photos of us and emailed us the full files. Then it was off into the heart of the city to a brew pub and then to see the coolest buildings and walk around "The Place" - an outdoor shopping area. Having the personal guide and private car/driver with us was so helpful - they got us right to all the sites and made getting around the city seamless. Very fun night and our guide also had lots of useful info - both re Mongolian culture and then just info on all the new buildings. We felt we learned a lot more because she was with us. - Caroline Cannon3 contributionsWe did this tour with Nico and could not recommend it more!! He took us to amazing spots for dumplings, noodles, and BBQ, with lots of great local beer as well. Easily the best meal of our entire trip. - stuartjaneb2 contributionsIf ever there was a venue whose menu perfectly fits its ambience this is it! Sixteen of us sat down to celebrate joint 40th birthdays and the whole experience couldn't have been bettered. There's not a vast choice but from the small plates ( butterfly prawns, sausage bites, mac and cheese, etc.) through to mains (burgers, tacos, salt beef sarnies, pizzas ) it was perfection.
We'd pre ordered ,being a large party, and having arrived as planned at 1230hrs and ordered drinks our food was served on the dot of 1245hrs, as agreed. We were a
diverse group from 2 to septuagenarian and everyone thought it was great.
