Lynda guided us towards what we wanted to see, saves time. She also helped negotiate a deal. On the way she told us about Beijing history and architecture. Overall very pleasant experience! She took us to the silk market and negotiated for us amazing prizes. She knows the merchandise and how much to pay for it. She would tell us to shop and to let her negotiate the prices. She’s amazing!!! We saved a lot of money when we purchased our silk scarfs, souvenirs, and Chinese art. She is incredible and my advice to anybody visiting Beijing, if you are planning on going shopping, you need her by your side. She was able to get all of our items at a third of the asking price! Look for Sunflower for any shopping trips. You will save a lot of money! - Patricia NNew York City, NY18 contributionsMy friend and I decided to spend the last day in Beijing shopping. We came across this activity on Trip Advisor and decided to sign up for it. Anson confirmed our tour the day before and was at our hotel the next day in time to start the day. He asked what our interests were and after some thought he laid out the plan of going to a tea market, Hong Qiao Pearl Market and Panjanyuan flea market. He offered to assist us with bargaining if and when necessary and sure enough we came out way ahead with every purchase. It helped that there were hardly tourists around because of the low season and vendors were desperate for customers.
We appreciated his ability to translate as we wouldn't have been successful in trying to understand what was said.

Since I came to Beijing for business it was ideal that the trip took place in the afternoon.
Margaret was great! Her English is more than fine and she will show you the hipster area of Beijing. Such a nice change to see where young people go! I had loads of fun and she is pretty flexible.
Fair warning, you will eat a lot!!! We tried a chocolate croissant that’s a must, a Chinese burger, fried tofu, and a flat bread. She suggested other places as well but I couldn’t eat anymore.

We had a great time on this private day trip to Tianjin. We were met promptly at 9 am in the morning by our guide Lina.
Was driven in a comfortable MPV to the train station where we board the bullet train to Tianjin. At Tianjin another local driver picked us up and this is where the Tianjin tour begin.
First stop, former residence of Puyi, cultural street and sampling of local snacks.
Our guide Lina took extra care of my elderly mum and was extremely attentive to her needs and ensure she was comfortable thru out the entire trip.
Specifically like to mention the restaurant we had for lunch. Food was very well prepared and nice.We even compliment the chef.

Chef Li was highly organized and very clear in her instructitons. On top of of the cooking class, she gave a fascinating history of won ton soup as well as the significance of Chinese New Year. We have been to Beijing before and to this market but it is because of him that we 'really' enjoyed it this time. He is the one to have as your guide when visiting Beijing. Her warm and friendly personality combined with fantastic English put the whole family instantly at ease. The tour was great - from the crazy bartering experience of the Pearl Market (where Beccy taught us a great Chinese phrase to keep insistent stall holders at bay) through to a delicious duck dinner (where Beccy explained how to eat each of the dishes) to the grand finale of the KungFu show which had my 12 and 11 year old boys totally transfixed. The tour was interesting as you can see a different side of Beijing.
The guide (Becky) was really fantastic, she was so friendly and considerate and we had lots of fun with her. She was very flexible and adapted the tour to our needs.
