- Breeze2,304 contributionsA very good location in central Beijing.
A beautiful traditional Chinese building, if you have been to Beijing many times and no ideas where to go, it will be a good choice.
This museum is quite small and you just take some time to appreciate most arts.
It is clean than what I expect and you can take the lift to the different levels to enjoy the different exhibition.
Good to go and can learn Chinese & Taiwan art.Written October 2, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kevin Earl11 contributionsI had a couple of hours between meetings and was in the area, so I popped in this museum not knowing what to expect other than some of the repatriated bronze fountain heads from the Old Summer Palace. It is located in an office building, but it is exquisite. The collection is mostly of bronze pieces from 3,000 years ago. There is also a smaller side gallery with some beautiful religious stone sculptures. If you have the time, this museum is definitely worth a visit.Written October 2, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MrGaucho1987Santa Barbara, CA943 contributionsThis is a Chinese state-run business. All the tours come here. You can get a little presentation of the art of Jade carving then you will be turned loose in the store. The info was interesting. The sales are not high pressure. There is jade for every budget. There is a little food and the toilets are above average. It is all indoors. It is not a bad place to kill an hour on the way to the great wall.Written December 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FlyfishermanBeijingBeijing, China278 contributionsNot best car museum, but still rather interesting. Nice collection of vintage Chinese and foreign cars and some slightly annoying shops. Cars were placed for 4 different floors. Building itself is big and it easily to feeling that museum is half empty. Still, overall, place is worth to visit. - Huang Wzhong481 contributionsthis is the private antique collection museum of Master Ma Wei-du.
Master Ma reputation is quite well known and was accepted for chinese antique collection expertised within China and aboard, he has the excellent chinese historical knowledge background.
there are several TV programe show that he has conducted and shared his valuable knowledge to the audience.
this private museum has located quite far away from Beijing downtown, and quite far from the current Beijing MRT transporation network coverage. however, in this case the bus no 418 or 668 can take you to the nearest bus stop of this museum easily.
according to this is a private museum, hence the entrance fee is required.
it totally can't compare with the other free admission (by government subsidized museum).
after the completion visiting, you can realize by your own this place is the completely well organized and high professional management.
in additional, there has the valuable collection of book that has written by Master Ma from his accumulative experienced and has available in the souvenir shop.Written June 11, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PaterHoHong Kong, China94 contributionsThe museum comes in 1 main building and 2 others adjacent. It is located near "Apple Community 蘋果社区“ and alongside the 22nd art zone street where there are other galleries, studios and shops. Exhibits will change, so it is difficult to comment. I saw Sarro's from Brazil and Bolin who works on village face portraits. - sissiwusiBeijing, China67 contributionsGuanfu Museum is the most famous private museum in China owned by a famous antique collector, Mr.Ma Weidu. The name GUANFU is derived from Tao Te Ching. It means: you need to scrutinize something again and again if you want to see its nature. This also express how Mr.Ma feels about antique collecting. The museum lies outside the NE corner of 5th ring road, not far away from the Airport Express. One of the most famous items of the museum is the cats, Guanfu Cats. There are tens of cats kept in the yard. Somehow they actually are the owner of the museum, and tourists love them so much since they are really cute. The antiques here are also impressive, especially the chinaware and the furniture. The chinaware includes items from Tang Dynasty to Qing Dynasty with almost all the typical features. The furniture shows the traditional Chinese style and how ancient elites value their characters. From all the selected antiques, you can easily feel the core of the Chinese culture. Yet, due to the private nature of the museum, the ticket is a little bit expensive(100 yuan). Nevertheless, you can pick the paiting on the ticket, including many cats images, and bring it back home as a book marker.Written December 20, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
