- LeicesterFiestaLeicesterFiesta14 contributionsI took a private car from Beijing centre to Yunmengsham yesterday which took 1.5 hours there and 2 hours back (we hit traffic coming back) and cost me 600 RMB (roughly £60-£65)... Entry fee was 40 RMB (roughly £4).
My driver suggested I take 5 hours in the park... I had read somewhere online that to reach the the top & back to allow 6 hours... I managed up and down in 4 hrs 40 including a 20min stop at the summit but with limited stops up and down... I think 6 hours is realistic if you want a more relaxed experience...
The park is stunning, lovely rivers and mountains - and actually, the summit doesn't hold the best views - you could go 3/4 of the way up to enjoy the nicest parts - and walking on some of the flat paths through the park might be a nicer way/as nice (especially if you have children etc) to enjoy the gorgeous scenery. If you are climbing leave early as it will get hot - think the park opens at 8am, I started at 8.30 and was glad of it!
Loads of places on the bottom and paths for picnic spots, though wasn't aware of any shops really apart from at the main entrance so take what you need. Lots of loos though!
This was a really nice day out to escape to get some fresh air and peace -really recommend for beautiful views.Written April 7, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Its a large nature preserve just like any forested area in china. Was hoping to see some wildlife, but none were easily seen, but the hiking trail was moderate.
here are instructions to visit if doing by bus:
To allow a relaxed trip to the Songshan Nature Reserve, you are advised to plan a full day. The transportation is convenient by bus. You can take bus No. 919 or 919 (express) at Deshengmen bus stop and get off at Yanqing Nan Caiyuan stop. Then change to bus No. 920 ( this runs on only certain days) and get off at Songshan Lukou stop, which is only 5 kilometers from the entrance to the reserve. You need to take a taxi to the scenic spot. If you travel with a couple of friends, we suggest that you hire a vehicle and share the cost. In this way, the trip will be more flexible and you do not need to worry about missing the return bus. You can drive northward along the Badaling Highway and take the Kangzhuang Exit. Then turn left at a T-junction and drive in the Zhangshanying direction. Following the sign posts, you will reach the east gate of Songshan Nature Reserve. The admission fee is CNY50 per person.Written October 29, 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
